Oh, a dog is making a house call today.  We shall see what we shall see.

Perhaps a new member of the family?

I am pleased to report that I actually slept through the night for the first time since June.  Yup, I can't remember sleeping all night without waking up coughing or just waking up since June.  8 1/2 hours.  Woo and hoo..  The inhaler has gotten rid of my cough completely.  I can't believe the difference.

I've showered and am fresh as a daisy for my radio interview in a half-hour, and then handing off materials and then lunch with Mr. Billy Barnes.

Just found out that the long radio interview I did a couple of days ago airs this Saturday at eleven and, best of all, it will be on the Internet as a Podcast so everyone who'd like to hear it can.

www.retro1260.com

I already have the station on my favourites.  So I guess that means two o'clock my time.  I'll be at Fright Night Film Fest, so I'll have to get the podcast later.

I had a relatively free day today, but it seems to be swallowed up by my catch-up list. I just finished laundry and sorting through a big pile of mail that had piled up. More chores await.

Humm...I do not like this theme among DRs of waking up and being unable to breathe.

Easy breathing vibes to all!

Yeah, but he had a rotteiler to even the score!

der Brucer

There was a Kuvas that occasionally bullied Echo.  When Craig learned I was walking with a Rottweiler he said she would take care of the Kuvas.  I just laughed and told him the dog was more timid and sweeter than Echo.

I love too many Billy Wilder movies to list them all here.  One of my all-time favourite movie lines comes from The Major & The Minor when the school dance is being held.  All the young girls (and their teacher) from the visiting girls school are lined up with a Veronica Lake peek-a-boo hairstyle.  One young cadet explains to Ginger Rogers:  "We use 'em for women."

Another line comes from the flawed but still swell PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES (with a great score by the great Miklos Rozsa.  The doorbell rings at 22b Baker St.  Late at night, neither Holmes or Watson are expecting a visitor.  Watson suggests:  "Perhaps Mrs. Hudson is entertaining."  Holmes replies:  "I've never found her so."

Great lines and very appropriate to include Sherlock Holmes today. ;)

"Damn you!  DAMN you!"  Marlene Dietrich Christine Vole, Witness For The Prosecution.

"The question is whether you were lying then or are you lying now... or whether, in fact, you are a chronic and habitual LIAR!"  Charles Laughton as Sir Wilfred in Witness for the Prosecution.

The latter has always been one of my favourites too.

Thank you Ben.  We made sure of that.

Off to walk the birthday boy before it gets too hot.  I can't take him to the lake or woods so I'll take him someplace we haven't been to sine last summer.

Will Sherlock get to see his mama or any of his siblings?

His biological mother passed away in September at the age of 7 1/2.  His only sister is in Bakersfield with their father.  He has another brother also in California near Covina.  He has two other brothers up in Washington.

In the spring we might get to see his father, sister and the California brother.

Sherlock and his father.

A strange and most unusual 2-CD film soundtrack has just been announced by Film Score Monthly:

Herbert Stothart's score, in Stereo, for the film "Dragon Seed"...on two CDs!

The samples sound wonderful...but I'd never have guessed the next Stothart to be released would be the score to "this" film!
