It is amazing how they can run off in the blink of an eye.  I'm glad you found her so quickly.

Well, my young children never got lost!

I remember we were in Philadelphia in a crowd watching the Mummer's Parade, and quick as a flash my eldest (then about 5) disappeared in a flash.

My wife tries to insist that we start looking for him right away; no, said I, he will find a spot to watch the parade; when it is over we can look for him.

When the parade was over, we asked a Policeman to direct us to where "lost children" might be found.

We were directed to the basement of a local department store, and sure enough, there was Robert, not a care in the world, along with dozens of other kids, playing about.

When I asked him what happened, he calmly replied that he had found a better place to watch the parade and when it was over he just asked a policeman where to go.

Robert was never, lost; we were.

DR Laura, you really should your photos to a magazine - for money not for free. Audobon or National Geographic or something. You photos are better than some I've seen published.

A woman that I work with has a flickr account (it's a website like Photobucket) and she takes pictures and sells them as stock photos.  She's officially started her own business and some of her photos have already been used.

What a crazy day so far.  We never had time to finish addressing, so that will be tomorrow and Wednesday - so the helper will have five days this week.  We went to storage where, shockingly, I found, or didn't find, piano/vocal charts on 2/3s of what we're doing.  That is a bit of a disaster.  I've pulled what we did have, and I called Harvey Schmidt to send me the music to his four songs.  We had NO music at all on LIB III - not one item, so I have to find those two or three songs - I guess it's time to call Michael Lavine.  Oy and vey.  And I worked out the big trade deal and I'll tell you what I am now the proud owner of, although I won't have it until Friday - but it's an amazing thing and something I've wanted for over thirty years and never ever thought I would own.

File this under "I didn't know that he was still alive," but Conductor Mitch Miller dies at age 99.

Wow...99 years old.

Well, Richard survived his dental procedure and my mother survived her eye check-up.  The really frightening thing the eye guy told Mom is that she could get a driver's license with the results of today's vision test.  Not that she wants to, but it goes a long way toward explaining some of the crazy driving behavior you see on the roadways  :o

Just because you can see doesn't mean you can react.  They should have a reaction time test in addition to a vision test

DR Cillaliz - that's exactly the conversation Mom and I had on the way back to her place.  And you have to be able to hear...

Let me emphasize, my mother has no interest in getting a license, we were just talking about the absurdity of the concept.

Well, I still see well enough (now that I have adjusted my driving habits to accommodate the loss of peripheral vision due to glaucoma - for which the driving test do not test ), but I confess that with increasing age I find my attention span weakening, and my attention to the road may wander.

I'm back from the class reunion and, well, it was as you might suspect: I talked with the three or four folks that I talked with in high school, said hi to a few more and ignored the rest of the folks that either tormented me or didn't speak to me back then.

I take it you no longer spend many minutes every week ironing your white damask table linens.

John, at the last one I went to, I looked at all those strangers and wondered who they all were. I only knew a very few.

The weird thing with this 30th reunion was that it was largely conducted on Facebook. So, if you weren't on Facebook, you didn't know it was happening. They made up name tags for the 45 or so who has a reservation to the Saturday night dinner. That wasn't many out of the 230+ in the class. I didn't know my friends and I would be going until we that evening. We gate-crashed and had a few drinks.

Donna, who looks better now than she did in high school, received a lot of attention from guys who wouldn't give her the time of day back then. It was sweet to see her brush them all off.

I got called Sean a couple of times, which I guess is close, but no cigar.

Makes attending the 35th or the 40th seem doubtful from this perspective.
