DR Cillaliz last night you mentioned that you read a lot of books and you often don't know the authors names.

I think it's different if you take books out from the library. At least for me it is. Because to look up a book online i need to type in the author's name. If i want to borrow or suggest a book I have to write out the author's name and the book title. So it makes me remember all the author's names.

DR CILLA LIZ - Miss Callee has discovered some secret places where she likes to spend time.  She removed her collar with the bell and is much happier.

She sleeps on the table in my father's room or on the small hassock in the living room.....she likes to be off the ground or UNDER a protective surface if she is on the floor.

At least she is full grown and you can see her.  When Bosco, our tortie & white, was a kitten she would disappear in front of our eyes.  The natural camouflage was amazing & scary when we couldn't find her.

Did she come microchipped or will you be doing that?  I know it is more common to microchip a dogs.  If I do have cats again the next ones will get a microchip.

DR Jane, you might find it funny to know that when i went back to the library this week your favorite book (not!) was still sitting on the front shelf for someone to borrow.

I guess nobody wanted it.

I do find that funny.  There were a good number of people in my book group who did not want to read the book.  Our books are picked by the hostess & she wasn't at the last meeting to hear the comments-lol.

I can look books up by the title which is usually faster than by the author.

Gary Larson

The funniest thing about this cartoon (one of my all-time faves) for those of us from a certain state is that there is indeed a Midvale, Utah, and this sums up precisely the sort of people one finds there.  :)

My mother was a HUGE Thurber fan and in fact I inherited a first edition THURBER CARNIVAL signed by Mr. Thurber (where the frell it is after this move is anyone's guess).  Her favorite Thurber was the one of two people fencing, one of them having decapitated the other, and exclaiming, "Touché!"  (She had to explain it to me when I was about 7 or 8 ).

BK, are you aware that Keith Olbermann reads a Thurber story on his COUNTDOWN program every Friday?  He did it as a lark one week and it turned out all the Thurber kids and grandkids are huge fans of his and contacted him, and he's made it into a weekly segment.

Our "new, improved" fiber optic internet has been off more than it's been on for the past several days--in fact since we moved here, there has not been ONE day where it hasn't gone down, at least for a few minutes, often for hours.  I have a tech coming this morning, but I've already been told it's a system thing, not specific to my house.  Three months of this is absurd.

My cats aren't microchipped but I've been thinking that I need to do that next time I go to the vet

I knew Shel Slverstein and he was a very interesting man. He had a great sense of humor, but his "Ballad of Lucy Jordan" is one of the most unsettling songs I know. It's the story of my mother and her madness.

I'm not only emotionally down but i'm feeling crappy; I can't figure out if it's allergies or I'm coning down with something and i hate that. Luckily, I have work and that keeps my mind off my troubles and my impulse from getting on the phone and raging at a friend. So, back to work.
