I totally loved the Emmy's tonight. I only packed a little bit and that was while the awards for movie/mini series were being given out.

One more note Part A

I see that The Amazing Race did not win this after seven consecutive wins for Best Program. That has to be some kind of record.

And how does George Clooney get so more and more handsome every time I see him...the bit with him and the characters from MODERN FAMILY was pretty fun.

That was too bad that AMAZING RACE did not win. It is such a good show. I don't know from the shows it was up against.

My only gripe with tonights Emmys was that the IN MEMORIAM did not show Connie Hines, star of MISTER ED.

I mean, that is an iconic show! And Connie Hines did more television then Patricia Neal did.

One more note Part B

Even though I haven't gotten around to watching Mad Men, I see that Robert Morse is on the series. I thought it would have been really cool if they called him J. Pierpont Finch and his wife's name would be Rosemary.

Listened to Billy Barnes' L.A. again.  Some places I only remember seeing (as I was too young), some things were gone before I came to LA in 1965, some I still remember like it were yesterday, and the subburbs well they are still here.   Enjoyed it even more the second time.  LA person forever. ;D

Went to see the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Moving Wall this weekend.  It was quite overwhelming.  Really glad I got the chance to see it. :'(

Also watched  The Bible...In The Beginning  From 1966 with George C. Scott/Peter O'Toole/Ava Gardner/Richard Harris..  Really like the old epic movies before CGI.

Love, love, love the Mayuzumi score.  Did you know the Theme has a lyric?  I kid you not.

Very nice!

I actually have a soft spot for it, too.  I'd love to see it on Blu-ray.

I watched the latest Mad Men - a good episode, but with every new episode I grow to loathe Don Draper more, but then there really aren't too many redeeming characters on this show.  But the most important of them is such a jerk.

Oh yea, also went to the end of summer block party down the street, hosted by one of the local restaurants for their customer appreciation.   21 bands in 2 days.   I was too old for the crowd.  Mostly young rock n roll bands.

I haven't gone back to watch the first part of The Emmy Awards that I missed, but I don't think that I will.  I'll just be content to read about who won and didn't
