I guess I'm feeling better today, health wise.  I'll just keep drinking all day as I did yesterday.

If you kept drinking all day, it might explain why you only guess you are feeling better.

Larry, I believe you're a little confused.  "Let America Come" is the video in your VCR right now.  :)

You need to work on your spelling, JMK.

Congrats on the success of the show, BK!  I wish I could have been there too!

I noticed that Jason sang "A Green and Private World."  The only time I've seen Jason live was at a tribute to David Zippel.   The singers came out after the show for a "meet-and-greet" and I told Jason how much I liked his rendition of that "Green and Private World" on your "Lost in Boston" CD.   He seemed very appreciative and thanked me for reminding him about the song.

Came home to a nice surprise: A phone call with an offer for a quick piece of PR that pays a hefty price tag. Perfect, as I start to look for work.

Great news, John G.

Thank you Jose.  The fact the vet is getting concerned is upsetting.

I'll send some very strong positive vibes to your youngest child.  Hopefully the internet will bring some help.

Well, I must be going.  I'm off to the Seattle Storm playoff game!

Until later!

Thank you.  One thing I like about this vet is that she isn't embarrassed to turn to specialists for suggestions.

DR Jane - When is your DS Craig driving to NYC? From what I can gather, the DC-NYC corridor should be fine. If anything, there will probably be a bit more traffic this holiday weekend between DC and NYC due to people changing their Outer Banks plans.

He is leaving tomorrow afternoon and taking the train, not driving. :)

We're back from a nice Thursday date.  I had some books to pick up at one of my former employer's branches and we stopped on the way for me to drop off some Vera Bradley items at a consignment shop.  We had a nice dinner at Red Lobster (all broiled for me) and now I'm eating a chocolate Tootsie Pop, pretending it's the chocolate cake from the Red Lobster menu.

Just dropping by before Earl picks us up and carries us away to that Volley Ball Island.

And what would you name your volleyball, DR DERBRUCER?

Well, I guess Rudy Volley would work.

My pet food place moved so I went to the new location for the first time today. I buy bags of holistic health cat food because one cat has an allergy to wheat, which is in most cat foods. The brand I usually buy changed their packaging, but I bought what I usually get (I thought) and got it home. When I opened the bags I noticed that they had changed the shape of the food, it was round and thicker, probably harder for them to chew. I usually mix this with another type of food, but today, the top came off the container and cat food went EVERYWHERE. I swept it up and noticed the kitties were eating it but flinging off the new food. When I looked at the bag, I realized it was DOG FOOD. It looked jut like the cat food but had a small silhouette of a dog in the corner. The store owner knows I've been buying cat food there for years and she didn't notice either. So I think I just wasted $60 (and that was after a 20% discount.) Argh!!

I went and rented a copy of "Ghost Writer" in anticipation of finding fault with BK's rave review. Unfortunately, the film was even better than BK suggested so I'll have to take my fighting mood elsewhere.

More deep thanks for birthday greetings to Elan, Charles Pogue, Matthew, MBarnum (neat card, Mike!), JMK, JoseSPiano, DR Jane (!), George, TCB, Kevin H and Edisaurus.

Lunch was split pea and ham soup.  The ham was sliced very thin like prosciutto and in slivers.  Very, very tasty.  My main course was veal raviolis in a plum reduction sauce (tasted like wild cherries).  Dessert was tiramisu.  A whole one was brought out with candles.  After I carefully blew them out (so as not to spray the food), we all had a very nice portion.

It was "yum".

Mary Linda's parents (much younger than we are!) are riding in DALMAC, a bicycle tour that goes from East Lansing, Michigan, to the Mackinaw Bridge.  Their youngest daughter is their chase team, driving their van and meeting them each night for them to sleep in the vehicle.  Friday afternoon, Rob and Mary Linda will go to Wilderness State Park on Sturgeon Bay (Lake Michigan) to ready the family's campsite, where they will all rendezvous for the holiday weekend.  Today they rode 71 miles; they project 89 tomorrow.

DR edisaurus - If all of the dog food didn't end up on the floor, couldn't you take back the bag and exchange it for the cat food? The story could return it back to the supplier as a "defective bag". ???

Oh Edi, I'm sorry about your expensive mistake.  Dog and cat food are usually in different sections.  Are you sure they hadn't stocked the food with the cat food?  If so they might exchange it or give you some sort of extra discount.

I'm sure the Humane Society will be very happy to take the food.
