They are also telling all their friends about the books, so I'm hoping we can get a real Adriana Hofstetter "thing" going.  One of them is going to try to create an Adriana page on Facebook.  Interestingly, neither girl has guessed the killer in any of the books.

Ginny and bk - My friends did not make it to The Gardenia last night. Alas, they didn't make it into LAX until this morning due to mechanical issues with their connecting flight. :-\

Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious and I just wanted to immediately sit down and start the book, although of late I've been thinking about waiting as I normally would till January 1.  But we'll see how this month goes, and if I find I'm so inclined I'll just begin it.

Now, I guess I should get motivated to jog, after which I'll sit on the couch like so much fish and finish French Can Can, and then figure out what else I want to watch.

I've made the preliminary list of Unsung Musicals songs - it's a little alarming how many duets there were and I have five or six on this list, which is a little daunting, but they're all really great songs.  So, I may cut one and replace it with a solo.

Came home to a nice surprise: A phone call with an offer for a quick piece of PR that pays a hefty price tag. Perfect, as I start to look for work.

Incredibly humid today and it's still 97 degrees out there. September is coming in like a heat wave.

Well then, they probably should have finished reading them.

Back from a really fun lunch with my two Adriana fans (and the father of one of them).  They are truly obsessed with the books and Adriana - both of them have read them multiple times and can quote a lot of dialogue.  It was so gratifying to hear them talk about their favorite scenes and characters and moment - it just makes me so happy to know that those books are loved by the age range they were written for (these girls are actually twenty although both look MUCH younger).  They totally identify with Adriana, and Miranda's dad told me she's now shopping at vintage clothing stores.  I told them a little about the new book and they seemed really excited by the direction that book will take.

They've been to locations talked about in the book, and after lunch they were all going to the alley in back of Mel's to see the site of the first book's murder - the diagram in the book is of that alley and everything is there down to the last detail.

DR Jane - When is your DS Craig driving to NYC? From what I can gather, the DC-NYC corridor should be fine. If anything, there will probably be a bit more traffic this holiday weekend between DC and NYC due to people changing their Outer Banks plans.

We are home from our most recent trip to the vet.  After 5 1/2 weeks Sherlock's tail still is not healing.  She is trying a new ointment on it.  We will have to change the bandage on Sunday & put more ointment on.  Photos of his tail have been taken to put on a veterinary surgical website for more suggestions.

This is extremely frustrating!!!!

Of course, I was actually thinking of heading up to Boston this weekend to see my godparents for the first time in almost 20 years. Ah, well.

He only said the weekend so I'm not sure.  I emailed and asked.  I suppose I'll only get a response if he is still home.

Thanks for letting me know about the corridor. I feel better about that even if  I'm not thrilled about the idea of extra, extra traffic on a holiday weekend.
