We just had salmon, wild rice and green beans for dinner.

One of my favorite meals - both to cook and to eat!

DH Richard has been watching those, too.

What a long wonderful life, though.

I tried many times to get him as a publicity client, but with no success.

He was always very friendly, very cordial when we'd run into each other over the years, and we would spend time chatting when he was doing Ray Courts' show.

I think I have his (and Paul Muni's) signature on the London DEATH OF A SALESMAN program.

Beautiful artwork. And more fitting of the subject matter. That's one Lewis novel on my to-read list.

Been making ginger ale lately. Perfect for a Pimm's Cup on a sweltering day. The latest experiment had more ginger and I used raw sugar, which is darker. Gives it a more dramatic color. Best batch so far. Think I'll stick with this recipe.

(And despite Jerry Herman, ginger and lemon works better than "ginger and lime.")

Would someone please call Cilla and tell her to quit doing housework and come do some posting.  We need to get things going around here.

Cilla I am very impressed by the change in your kitchen - it seems so cozy and homelike now

Thanks Vixmom. It's really a comfortable place to cook now.  That's what I was looking for

Cillaliz, the kitchen looks great. Did anyone ever answer your question about borscht?
Thanks and No

The cats have really enjoyed hanging out with me this weekend.  It's funny, every once in awhile they just want to be around me and purr. I love it.

I am listless.

I need a list of reasons not to be listless.  :)

Borscht was originally made with beef stock to stretch the meat flavor as far as possible and use up all those beets. Hope that answers the question.

How do you make ginger ale?

Yeast, sugar, ginger, lemon juice and water. the original recipe that I tried is on this site

http://biology.clc.uc.edu/fankhauser/cheese/ginger_ale_ag0.htm

I use less sugar and more ginger to get the flavor I want. Am posting a piece about making it tomorrow morning. Will do a link to that tomorrow.

Today we saw a local production of "Noises Off." Sadly, Lilah and her friends all left after the first act. And Sandra caught four sardines.

In spite of a horrible start, the Seattle Seahawks beat the San Francisco 49ers, 28 to 6.

I've lost one of my "Romping Redheads" for the Oct 2 recording session. I am not happy about this news at all.
