Oy, I managed to survive watching Blue Mountain State for my review, but the studio wants me to IV the cast.  Double oy.

I have some interesting stuff today, including a rare staging of RIENZI (extremely truncated, but interesting) and Abbado conducting the Mahler 6.

I sure wish you would speak English! I didn't understand a word.

Um, DR MBarnum, he is speaking English.  Oh... There is that "Oy". ;)

One shot of the Kentucky Derby Pie I made yesterday. Pecans, chocolate chips, brown sugar and a splash of bourbon. Heaven.

We had a very good rehearsal today, but I got the rather shocking news that one of our gal singers has to be in NY on Tuesday for an audition - she's flying back that night, but won't be with us for our stumble-through.  She's professional and knows her material, so we're okay, but I'm concerned about the erratic NY weather - so, come Tuesday we'll send lots of excellent vibes and xylophones for good weather for her flight back.

But to at least have the stumble-through I'm having the singer I'm working with learn the girl's four songs - that way she can sing them and that will enable me to know the order is good and working.

I'm doing that "Full of Barbecue Dance" myself right now. And it's a happy thing.

Sounds like good insurance.

Oh... I thought it would be cut into just six slices. ;)

To make it seem as if one is not of the oinker family, you cut it into 12 slices. But three of us did manage to oink our way through half of the pie by the end of the evening.

I left the rest at my friends' house. David was the one who requested it and his birthday is a day after mine, so I was more than happy to make it -- and to leave the rest there.

And since I've already fallen asleep a few times over the past hour or so with my laptop on my lap, well...

Goodnight.

I'm caught up.  Well, to be honest, I've dispensed with the notes lately.  I always make it back to read them.  It's been a long week and things don't seem to get and shorter.

However, all seems to be well.
