I enjoyed it as a show for kids and really liked Stephen Flaherty's music, much better than the album, which I think needs the BK treatment. It sounds like it was recorded in a tunnel. It's flat and lifeless, and the music really came to life for me in the theater.

Plus, I'm a sucker for anything related to Dr. Seuss. (Except Jim Carrey in a Dr. Seuss movie.)

Have you heard the new recording of Seussical yet?
I haven't. Is it any good?

The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck was on Rachel Ray today!

Go Doug!

Rachel Gay

Thanks for posting that, DR Ben!

Of course, we're all trying to figure out if she cursed, or if she said, "That's sick!".

*And, if you look at the bigger picture, you have to give Rachael Ray a lot of credit for promoting the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck on her show.  "Yes, Middle America, Gay People do exist."

It's pretty good.  And it reflects the one-act version of the show. -Which is probably how the show should have started out in the first place, imho.

Since I've cut out cheese from my diet (I LOVE cheese and now we're eating the soy stuff) I was intrigued by the mention of vegan cheese. In spite of being in New York, the center of the known world, it is not easy finding this stuff. I just spent time looking for Daiya, Sheese, Dr. Cow and Teese. They are all NOT readily available around here. I may order some on line and see what it's like.

DR Ben - I know that Whole Foods tends to keep a decent selection of vegan cheeses in stock, and I believe Trader Joe's has two or three available under their house brand.  And if you happen to find yourself above 42nd Street, the mini-chain of Health Nuts stores actually has a Vegan Deli counter.

The other thing to keep in mind as you look for vegan cheese is that most stores won't stock next to the real stuff.  Those die-hard vegans prefer their own section. ;)

DR elmore - I'm glad that you're recording sessions have been going so well.  As for a "bad day", well, I hope you don't end up self-fulfilling your prophecy. Besides, that "bad day" probably won't occur until the mix-down sessions.  ;)

It's all going too smoothly and that worries me. I hope there are no rough sessions, but there are two days left on this one and three more sessions totalling around eight days after that between Oct 19 and Jan 2011..

DR elmore - After all the preparation and scheduling "crap" you've completed, why wouldn't things go smoothly?

Was doing a little Leap of Faith research - the film was not a hit - that surprised me.

Yep.  And according to Time-Warner, the "sun outage" will continue until the 15th.  Ugh!

Solar Interference Season

*And it really seemed to wreak havoc with cell phone signals today. -At least here in NYC. Lots and lots of dropped calls.
