My sister's birthday party was very nice - her kids hired their favorite caterers, whom we've been blessed with on other family occasions. Rik had a rollicking good time, and slammed back tequila shots a-plenty, washed down with very good wine. I was her designated driver, and thus got back VERY late, as she stayed to the last guest's departure.

Today I have my art therapy session at the same ol' rehab where I've been working for going on three years. Fortunately, it has been moved from 10 am to 11 am.

The Spicy Whores are free, or finding them is at no charge? And how do you cook them, exactly?

Last night I watched GUN CRAZY on TCM.  I had read much about this film for many years, but had never seen it.  It is most interesting and entertaining......John Dall & Peggy Cummins as a kind of late 40's Bonnie & Clyde.

DR JMK - Peggy is a knockout and reminds me so much of Frances in many of her scenes.....here are some excerpts......

She is particularly Frances-like in this scene starting at about 6:50

I love that movie. Peggy is great! And isn't that Russ Tamblyn at the beginning?

I did not sleep well at all last night. I awoke at 11:00pm to the sounds of sirens, looked out the bedroom window to find an ambulance and a fire truck pull up in front of the building. Then I heard someone shout something like "around back" and both vehicles left.

The building's fire alarms weren't going off, so I just went back to sleep, but had a headache the rest of the night. Don't know if that was from the massive dose of Vitamin D that I took Saturday (I take one pill a week), the Bollywood King Kong movie, or the chocolate zucchini bread that I bought at the Saturday market.

Perhaps the combo of all three was just too much for me.

The reviews are exactly what I expected and have already generated more orders for Sugar.  He asks why bother with CD 1 when the remix (not remastering - I'm so clear about it in the booklet so not sure how he gets it so wrong) is so much better - if I didn't do CD 1 then the original LP mix would have never been available on CD - and even if I kept it to myself that the previous CD HAD been a remix (albeit a bad one) then you'd have had purists screaming that only the remix was available.  So, there was no way to win, so I always err on the side of doing what I think will sell the most CDs even though it's more costly to do so.

Good Morning! Good Afternoon!

I'm up, I'm up... And, alas, I believe my yearly bout with Fall allergies has kicked in. They're not bad. I'm still functional. They're just annoying. Meh! Bah!

It's a beautiful day in Manhattan. We just returned from Bed, Bath and Beyond after buying some health and beauty products and then a browse at Academy Records and CDs.

It's supposed to return to rain and bad weather for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I hope it gets better by next Sunday. A friend from Nottingham is coming in and we are meeting her for a tour of our neighborhood and brunch, probably at East of Eighth. If it's raining and cold we may just end up visiting at the apartment and then having brunch.
