For you opera fans (and both of you know who you are ;) ), I received word yesterday that Schwarzkopf's DER ROSENKAVALIER is about to debut on Blu-ray.

TOD: I, too, have been scouring the dollar bins lately, so the CDs right now are the London "Wonderful Town," a Bette Midler CD with "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most" and a McGlinventory compilation of songs from his various musicals CDs.

DVD: "South Pacific" and "Mulholland Drive," not as a double feature

Car CD: Am only up to Disk 14 of "Vanity Fair." Having been ill, I'm not in the car to hear what Becky Sharp is up to.

I would really like to come here today with good news, and there is some good news here, but, most importantly, I have to bring truly sad news:

Mum and I will be losing Miss Dixie Bell today.   She was a beautiful friend, companion and each and every synonym entailing friendship, but her quality of life cannot be returned.

I know that my fellow Hainesies share in our appreciation for Miss Dixie Bell, so, I will quote from A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENT'S:

I am back from the doctor; lab tests scheduled along with a second appointment to have two spots she thinks are precancerous formations on my arms frozen off. I've also managed to get my flu shot and a prescription for a second drug to help my blood sugar levels.

DR TD, sorry to hear your sad news. I know how unpleasant and heartbreaking it will be. I can only send my condolences.

Good Lord, this BTTF Trilogy review has taken a day and a half.  There is one (insert expletive here)-load of material on this set.

TOD:

DVD:

Thanks to people like JRand and George I have plenty of goodies to watch this weekend. HIGH SCHOOL STORIES (starring Mr. Tom  Birkland) will be one, for sure, then maybe THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE or IT CONQUERED THE WORLD. I love having choices!

And you're welcome!

Back to Atlanta now...that was a short trip, but fun, apart from a certain TV show about Vampires ruining my evening last night. More later...thanks for all the vibes! Gotta catch a plane!

Band arrested after blocking LA freeway to perform

Idiots.  According to the article:  "The group, whose credits include "Traffic Jam 101," said on its website it is dedicated to helping homeless children.

Really?  This is how you help homeless children??

Thank you guys so much.

Miss Dixie Bell left this world at 2:15pm today.  I was right there beside her the whole time.  In the car, she laid her head on my lap.  At the vet's, I laid on the floor beside her.  She licked me once before she went.  I know that Dad greeted her somewhere beyond this plane.

Also today, as Mum was looking up a phone number in her book, a sheet of paper came out.  That sheet of paper was THE PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS.
While I was at the vet with Miss Dixie Bell, Mum gazed out into Dixie's yard and saw a flock of blackbirds.

Mr Steven LaBrie stopped by to visit and brought his Mum along. He dropped off a piece of music for me, and I'll see him on Tuesday at the recrdig session. They drove up from Philadelphia today because he's carting everything he accumulated during the run of "Puss In Boots" in Manhattan back to Philly.

That is exactly what I posted here the other day - the jam that caused the helper to be an hour late.  I hope they're still in jail.
