Finished with my viewing.  Tape transfer guy brought all the heavy boxes of Carrie back along with his equally heavy invoice.  Carrie is now the most expensive title we've ever done and what should have been a decent profit maker will be lucky to make more than a couple thousand bucks, which is horrible.  It was a title I needed to do well, it did well (selling out) but the costs are so horrendous it doesn't even matter.  Luckily, albums usually cost half that amount, but then some don't sell out and we're always struggling to stay ahead of the bills because my biggest dealer is three months behind in paying for stuff and there's no way he'll move faster.

Hello-

In case anyone's interested and didn't already know, PBS is showing a salute to Stephen Sondheim tonight.

I finally ordered the DVD and it arrived on Monday.  I recorded the PBS broadcast and they've interviewed some of the performers.  I think I might make a DVD of just those interviews...maybe.

Tonight, I went to a rehearsal of "Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol," being put on by the Olympia Little Theatre.  It was just a rough run-through (very rough) but it'll be very good.  The lighting designer was there and I met her.  She'll be hanging and adjusting the lights on Friday.  I'll probably go help.

Set the DVR to record Great Performances!!

I'm just wondering if tonight's PBS broadcast will include Karen Olivo and company singing "America", and/or Alexander Gemignani singing "Something's Coming"?

Yes to Karen and no to Alexander.

AARRGGHH!!  In the broadcast that I recorded (on the Seattle PBS), Marin Mazzie is interviewed during the second break and right in the middle of the interview they abruptly cut back to the concert just as David Hyde Pierce is walking down the aisle before he starts singing "Beautiful Girls"!  What's that all about?  Did that happen with any other broadcast? :-\
