Back from dinner at my favorite seafood restaurant. A group of friends and I have gotten together every Thanksgiving Eve, where we get to catch up on each other and share some good times. The food was excellent (barramundi with celeriac three ways, a sampling of Maine oysters), but it was just the chance to see these people that was the most joyous. One of my friends also has been unemployed for a while. Another starts chemo treatments next week. A couple couldn't be there. So, there was an undercurrent to the proceedings that made the time together even more precious.
