What bothers me today is the growing intolerance of people. It could be traffic, political, personal. We've created our own personal spaces with cellphones and MP3s and what have you, and when someone enters then for whatever reason, we get all ugly. I am guilty of this to some extent, but it's not as bad as I have seen elsewhere.

Saturday morning greetings!  Today is my mother's 92nd birthday, so we're going to pick her up in about an hour to spend the day at our house and have a modified Thanksgiving dinner - turkey breast, stuffing from a box, sweet potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie.  Entertainment for the afternoon:  Michigan vs. Ohio State - Go, Blue!

TOD - others have said it better already, but the lack of manners and consideration for others really bugs me.  I've been thinking about Kander & Ebb's "Class" a lot lately.

And just for that great help, Laura :) - here's a draft of my parody of Cher's openly kvetching about getting older physically but trying to stay modern with her fans.

Good morning, all! Jo and I have been out and about this morning. I took her to breakfast and then we went out to dad's property, found the For sale sign and got it back up and visible, did some shopping and now we are back home. Randy has not yet left Tennessee, which I suspect may be to avoid my taking him out to dinner tonight; he was really angry during our phone conversation. Right now, I'm quite angry with him, since I really did want to take him and Jo out,  so I am looking forward to Monday's return flight.

This afternoon I hope to see my friend Peggy Short, with whom I worked for too many years at Office Outfitters. She's got to be 87 now (she and my mother were friends in high school) and I haven't seen her in about 20 years. We did speak on the phone several years ago and I'm a bit embarrassed I've let so much time get by.

Time to wash the car, buy a cd player (I've been without music for a month except for the radio and then I only listen to NPR) I'm hoping Radio Shack has things on sale, and then find area 93 to listen to the archivist from Akron Ohio.

Happy Saturday to do the things we want since we are not at work day.  ;)

Thanks.  I thought it was something to play games on, which ones I didn't have a clue or that it could be used for NetFlix.

It snowed here for the first time last night. Doesn't look like that much. And hopefully it will all melt. But there is a good 1cm on the ground. I took out my winter boots yesterday. Yuck! I don't like winter.

It is snowing here.  As pretty as it is and as much as Sherlock enjoys the white stuff I'm tired of it.  I'm really tired of the cold and ice that follow the snow.

TOD:

Since I don't want to get into politics or world affairs...

What bugs me most in the world today is the fact that there isn't a good NY-style deli here in Austin, TX.

  :'(

LOL I know the feeling.

Thank you to DRs FJL, Elmore, and Laura for the birthday wishes for my Mom.  She's here now and we're watching the Michigan/Ohio State game.

As for the Topic of the Day...

I just really want whatever is in my sinuses and throat to go away. Now!

*I did wake up around 6:00am, proceeded to have quite a coughing fit, but once I crawled back into bed, I got about four hours of some very good sleep. I'm feeling much better, so maybe I coughed up (and out) the "bad stuff". ???
