My favorite Neil Simon play is THE SUNSHINE BOYS.

I was lucky enough to see it with Jack Albertson & Sam Levene.

I also recall seeing a production with Brian Keith (!?!) and Howard Morris.

Good morning.  Had one of my woke up not able to breathe episodes in the night last night.   They aren't as scary anymore, but are definitely not pleasant. Once I found my inhaler I was ok.

I'm waiting for my parents now.  They should be here any time.  We're going shopping and will have lunch.  It's really windy out so I'm a little concerned about them on the road in the van, but mom didn't mention having any problems when she called an hour ago.  they are on a four lane that doesn't get a lot of traffic, so they should be ok.  I'll drive in town once they get here.

I would like to get dressed. But will probably wait until my other niece and sister come back from swim class. Hopefully my niece won't have had another meltdown. For some reason she get "stomach aches" when she goes swimming.

This teacher is quite hard on them.  The odd part is that she had gone for 2 years to the same pool with her daycare class and thrived. But this session she's been having problems. Even though she can swim the width of the pool she psychs herself out! Hope it won't be a nightmare today.

If she is getting stomach aches chances are she is swallowing air and/or water as she swims.  I can have a tendency to do this.

I'm glad you are coping better with the fear & that the inhaler works.

today I will cook our turkey for our home Thaskgiving meal

And then, afterwards:

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,
BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,
I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -
THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION
WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.
BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

I had no idea it was popular to diss Neil Simon. I have never heard of such a thing.

Of course comedy is in the eye of the beholder...or at least that is what I say when it comes to the old BLONDIE and Dagwood movies.

Well they were funny - but not as good as the Ma and Pa Kettle films.

Elmore areRandy & McBeth reluctant to employ a realtor because of the commission cost?  Or do they want to wait for the depressed real estate market to rebound so the property will be worth more?

They do not want to pay a commission, but the realtor I spoke to says they won't see anything remotely close to what they wanted for 5-6 years. I want a realtor for the simple reason that someone will then be promoting the sale of the property. The two blockheads are doing next to nothing. It's all been JoAnn's work so far.

I finished the Kay Thompson bio. It was really quite moving and gave me an appreciation of her talents. She was still a major pain.

With constant articles, at least I've seen them, the housing market will improve in 2011 your brother's might not want to believe the realtor, plus believing also demonstrates how wrong they were not to sell back when they should have.

No matter how right you are, and have been all along, it seems you are fighting a losing battle.  They obviously don't need the money as much as you do and have no wish to buy you out.  If they do agree to buy you out I expect it will be for a lot less than you might get if you wait until the property sells.

From what you are saying I fear next you will lose the close relationship you have with Randy and the property will still be unsold.  Does Randy understand how important the sale of this is to you financially & the reason you continue to talk to the realtor against his wishes?  Without apologizing maybe he will accept your reasons if he understand your motivation and not be angry at you anymore.

All hail the American wordsmith:

Cabinet Magazine*

Quote
The Romanian philosopher and political scientist Cătălin Avramescu is the first scholar to notice the importance of the cannibal in modern European thought, and to attempt to write a comprehensive intellectual history of anthropophagy. His book first appeared in Romanian in 2003 under the title Filozoful crud (“the cruel philosopher” or “the raw philosopher,” depending on context), and in 2009 was published by Princeton University Press as An Intellectual History of Cannibalism. In June 2010, Justin E. H. Smith spoke with Avramescu in Bucharest about, among other things, the difficulty of intellectualizing such a bloody topic as this. This interview was subsequently fleshed out in a series of e-mail exchanges.

So, discuaasions on Cannabalism were "fleshed" out...

The Oregonian addressed the entrapment issue today and called it a non-starter for a whole slew of reasons, though they said the guy's defense attorneys will still probably make a go for it.

Hello!

I also thought about ordering Mad Men because of all the praise for the show.  I haven't even seen one episode.  I get the impression that it's better to watch it from the beginning.
