Well, you've read the notes, the notes were theatrical and arty, and now it is time for you to post until the arty cows come home.

Morning all.

The early morning rising continues. I stayed up until 11pm but it's 4:30 and I'm awake.

Oh, well.

Good morning, all!  I dreamed I was still at my awful Office outfitters job in Ohio in 1975 and having lunch with my friend Bruce Pomahac from Rodgers & Hammerstein. I remember little now except a bus ride that was  horribly packd with people and dogs and having to change a pir of pants while waiting for the elevator.

Today I have various jobs and, hopefully, a meeting with DJ Salisbury about this Appalachian Christmas project.

Morning all.

I went back to bed at 5:30 and now I'm up again so I got another 2 hours of sleep.

It will be a quiet day. I will make the meatloaf that I was going to make yesterday but couldn't because of the floor issues.

Anthony will attend a fundraising event for a friend of his and I will do little else besides making meatloaf.

I think I'll watch SKIN GAME w/James Garner today.

It arrived yesterday from Warner Archive.

I was up very late last night, doing the 1-hour interview w/ Cult RadioaGoGo.

It was very relaxed and fun.

Food with my cousins was loads of fun, except that their bus from DC got in a half-hour late and the restaurant would not seat a party of 7 for brunch without pretty much the whole party being there, so Skip and I waited at the bar while they were stuck in bus traffic

I've been over to Cafe 82 for a yummilicious breakfast and I've put the laundry into the washers. Time to make the bed and vacuum.

DR JRand60, I've been reading the new Sal Mineo bio, which seems quite well researched and assembled. I've also been reading Chelsea Handler's Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea, which is outlandishly rude and funny. I have erupted into loud guffaws several times now but. mercifully, not on the plane.

Good Morning!

I'm up, I'm up... And I believe I threw my back out last night during the course of a coughing fit. Alas, since I've never thrown my back out, I'm not really sure I have. But something is a-twinging. ???

DR Druxy - Where is your computer repair taking place? An Apple Store? If so, you're computer down time may only be for a day or two, maybe even just a couple of hours.  It's a "good" sign that they're ordering the part. This way, once you bring you're computer back in, all they have to do is replace the drive. -Which, as I know from experience, shouldn't take no more than an hour anyway.

If any DRs can still watch "CBS Sunday Morning" this morning, do so. It's been a great mix of stories and topics so far.

I am fortunate enough to have a son who knows from computers and was able to make a house call to fix my Mac.  :-)  He also was able to install the church laptop to the printer to run wirelessly.

My MacBook Pro is less than 2 years old, and is still under warranty.  I don't use the CD drive very much.

I've been told that the CD drive is not an unusual problem for this model.

It IS at an Apple Store, but they say it could be 3-5 days turnaround.  In the meantime, I have the computer until the part comes in.

I believe "3-5 days" is the standard party line, so to speak. When my motherboard blew out a few years ago, I was told it would take a week. It only took 36 hours. And when I had the top-plate replaced on my MacBook last year, the quoted turnaround time was "24 hours". My computer was ready for pick-up 45 minutes after I left The Apple Store. -Hopefully, that will bode well for your repair.
