DR Jane - When you say "cut" do you mean "trim"? Or just cut them all off?

I've never understood just exactly how cutting your bangs off works? I mean, it part of the hair framing your face, right? So, you can't really cut that all off, right? I mean, if you go shorter, won't that make them stand out a little more? Whereas if you let them grow out, then they just blend in with the rest of the hair around your face? ???

In Jane's case, I think that she's wondering if she should cut her long hair to make bangs.  If I remember correctly, her hair is all one length...I think.

LOL-look at the photos you recently took. :)

Umm...shows you how observant I am. ::)

Barihunk Mariusz Kwiecien has a new site that's quite good. The section of his personal photography is quite wonderful and there are some great shots of him in various productions:

I got home and decided to google someone who volunteers for us, a dear man named  "Ruby Rims". He's been around since the 70s and he's sweet and kind and extremely helpful in our work.

Well, I came across a photo shoot posted on BroadwayWorld.com and there are lots and lots of pictures of people posted here, including someone we all know and love. She just posted today, in fact. She's very busy and doesn't post as often as we want her to, but she's a glamorous and lovely person and I love seeing these pictures of our own Miss Julie at the MAC Awards in May of this year.

MAC Awards May 2010

Aww - thank you DR Ben!!
Ruby Rims was fantastic at the MAC Awards -- a real audience favorite.  You must have some great conversations while volunteering.

Good Evening!

It's cold in NYC.

-Just felt like repeating the obvious.

That is all.

I'm watching WHITE CHRISTMAS.

(Which has nothing to do with DR MBarnum's birthday card.)

In other news...

Earlier, I headed down to Joe - The Art of Coffee down on Waverly Place to have my mocha latte prepared by an 8th-Grader.

Yes, an 8th Grader.

Today was the "final exam" of a special program they've been running with Citizen Schools. Over the past 10 weeks, the folks at Joe have been mentoring a group of 8th graders from a school in Brooklyn. The students not only learned how to make a good cup of coffee - via "pour over" and Chemex - and pull a proper shot of espresso, they also received training in front of house duties such as manning a cash register and managerial duties.

It took a few extra minutes to get my mocha, but the students did a wonderful job, and they were also offering free samples of their Kenyan blend to everyone in line.

*I do have to say that the thought of 8th graders buzzed on caffeine is a little frightening to me - they apparently also tasted many varieties over the past couple of weeks - but what a wonderful program with benefits for the students and the mentors.  There were also a bunch of regulars who came in, and they had high praise for the budding baristas.

Actually, when I first saw DR MBarnum's card, I thought it was an ad for THE SCOTTBORO BOYS.

I just finished watching and reviewing the extremely disturbing History Channel series GANGLAND, which had a totally frightening episode about a white supremacist group right here in Portland.

My niece posted this on my Facebook wall yesterday.  If my hair still looked this good without bangs I wouldn't have them.

Look at all the waves in Jane's hair! Your hair looks lovely and it's a great photo all around.

This must be exciting for you. :)

In the movies, all nightclub acts consist of only one number.

and the performers often sing in front of a huge band with no amplification.
