I've just spoken to DR Ben. The doctors have decided to do nothing about draining the abscess after looking at x-rays and such. Ben says he feels better today and he is going onto a liquiddiet. If this goes well, they may try solid foods tomorrow. He remains on his antibiotic IV. There is talk that he will be released on Saturday or Sunday if things continue to progress.

I am at Toyland, feeling like crud, waiting to see Mr Skip Kennon, and wanting to kill the persons currently in control of my financial state. I did have a couple of productive hours at the McGlinnventory and we've now pulled most of what the estate owed to the LoC.

Apparently, Richmond, VA, is dealing with a bit of snow and sleet and ice today.  Lots of closings and cancellations. I'm guessing my parents will use the home-bound time to finish up their Christmas decorations. -Although, I suspect they finished all of their decking and trimming last week. ;)

DR elmore - I think you need to drop by a location of New York Sports Club and ask them for a Day Pass - or at the very least, a 10-minute pass. It sounds like you need to hit a punching bag a few times. Or maybe just a cookie and a cup of hot chocolate from City Bakery. ;)

Nightline just had a show about how being cold can make you lose weight.

Then I should be really skinny! ;)

I find that curious since I believe the body tends to add weight for the winter to keep you warm.  I know around October I had to fight extra cravings, something I never experienced living in So. California.

I had always heard that you burn more calories in cold weather due to your body generating it's own heat to keep you warm. -Subsequently, exercising in colder weather burns more calories too. ???

DR Jane I also think that people eat more in the winter. You can't be as active.  And there is a lot of holiday cooking to eat.

But maybe some people are too cold too eat!

Happy to say we are fully cast for the January Gardenia show - Zachary Ford, Juliana Hansen, Kim Huber, Damon Kirsche, and Alet Taylor, with special guest star Millicent Martin.  The show is called The Stephen Sondheim Albums.

Nice!

Again...wishing you could record these. :)

RIP Blake Edwards. The "director" of the Mercer documentary had about 10 minutes to interview him before he started giving out and spent most of the interview asking him questions about whether he had points in TIFFANYS. Blake didn't even know what that meant so the "director" had to explain it to him. There were so many things Mercer related he could have asked during that time; one of the many squandered opportunities on that film.

Give the state of his health at that point, I'm surprised that he was with us as long as he was.
