And I hope Janet Leigh does justice to "Just One of Those Things" when you get it finished.

I'm decomposing now!

I'm shutting this computer down and heading out. See you all tomorrow night!

Thicker blood vibes (?!) for DRs Ginny and Ben. (That sentiment just sounds odd, but it's meant in a spirit that exceeds its clumsy phrasing.)

Watched the first few episodes of Glee on DVD this morning.  I hadn't seen the show from the beginning and missed several episodes on TV.   Gotta hate/love Sue Sylvester!

I'm sure the first "show" I saw was the film version of WEST SIDE STORY, which my sisters dragged me to probably 20 times when I was a toddler.  I still remember huddling in the theater chair with my head buried in my arms waiting for the gunshot the "second" 19 times.  :)

First show on Broadway was A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, which I saw right after it opened--only my two Uncles' connections to BK's close personal friend Stephen Sondheim got me a ticket.  Years later, when I returned to NYC after the death of my second Uncle, I went to a matinee of PASSION, probably a week or two after the Tonys.  It was still half empty, though as I've reported previously, I got to sit next to Mary Tyler Moore.  :)

There's a sidebar in this morning's paper about the girl star of the new TRUE GRIT dissolving into tears on the Paramount lot when GLEE's Lea Michele refused to sign an autograph for her.

DR Cillaliz - I really appreciate your professional input regarding the Tucson story.  It seems weird, though, to have less than six degrees of separation with those involved.

I predict Lea Michele will soon be asking her for an autograph.

Good morning all!

Good train vibes to DR Elmore and stop the nose bleed vibes to DR Ginny.

Still waiting for Mr. AC/Heating man to arrive.  I was told it would be between 9-12.  If he doesn't show up by 11:30 I'm going to call into work and just tell them I'm taking the rest of the off.

By the time he would get here and who knows how long it will take him to fix the thing so it might be after 12.  Then I have to get dressed for work and you figure it would take me about 20-30 minutes to drive in, pay for the cross town, pay 8 bucks to park, not to mention my gas  for what?   If I make to work by 1:00 maybe 3 1/2 hours of work?  I have over 18 days on the books.   It would be cheeper to stay home.

Funny in the old days I would have busted my butt to get to work even if it was only for an hour.  Now, ehh.

DR Danise, did you check your circuit breaker?  Maybe the one for the heater is kicked off?

Yes, Dan.  That was one of the first things I did check because we have had a few power outages these past couple of days.  I also made sure the filer was clean and installed a new one, just in case.

Those were the few things I knew to check.

I wonder if they are a bit scared of me.  After all, I get Turner into so much trouble.  They sure didn't want to admit they had done any work when I called them on Friday.  It was only after I read the license number that the gal said, yes, that was us.

Oh great, we are under a storm warning.  Small hail and gusty winds are possible.  That does it.  I'm calling into work and let them know I'm not coming in today.  I am NOT going to drive in pouring rain if I have anything to say about it.

I wonder if that's why the guy hasn't shown up.   I hope this doesn't mean he won't show up!

First Stephen Sondheim show was the movie version of GYPSY which I loved.....and has one of my favorite lyrics in SOME PEOPLE:

Some people sit on their butts
Got the dream. Yea, but NOT the guts!

Saw a professional production of WEST SIDE STORY which I enjoyed.

And have worked on many productions of both of those shows + Into the Woods and Forum......   Most excellent shows.

BUT if I had to choose a favorite song....HAD TO.....it might be it would be "Being Alive" from COMPANY - my favorite Sondheim show.

TOD:

I first became aware of Stephen Sondheim through an episode of The Carol Burnett Show on which she and the cast did a mini-musical presentation of his songs.  Some I was already familiar with: "Comedy Tonight", "Everything's Coming Up Roses", "I Feel Pretty".  But there were others that I heard for the first time, such as "Waiting Around For The Girls Upstairs", "Company",  and "Send In The Clowns", that set my mind reeling.  The very next day I asked my mom to pick up the OCR of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC at Korvettes and I've never been the same ever since.

The first show I saw was the NIGHT MUSIC tour with Jean Simmone and Margeret Hamilton.

The first Broadway show was PACIFIC OVERTURES.

Favorite songs:
Everyday A Little Death
I'm Still Here
Being Alive
Pretty Lady
Johanna
I Never Do Anything Twice
I Remember Sky
Not A Day Goes By
Beautiful
No More

Besides the movie of West Side Story, the first Sondheim show I saw was Company.  Fell in love right away.

I'm up again.  At least I got two more hours of sleep.  In a little while I'll start looking at what I wrote yesterday, futz and fix, and then move on to finish the chapter I'm on.
