Doing my best.  I have callbacks on Saturday.  I've been avoiding learning the show for almost a year.  I guess things in due time.  At least we don't start rehearsing until March, but need to look like I know what I'm doing on Saturday.

Appearing to know what you're doing is so overrated.  ;D

BK, my review of ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA has been live for almost three minutes and still no curmudgeonly email from you.  ;)

I also reviewed this new "virtual orchestra" audio BD with the non-native English speaker.  It's of Beethoven's 5 & 6, and all I can say is whatever "reference recording" this guy used to assemble his tracks for the 5th must have been played at 78 rpm.  The opening movement is so insanely fast I still can't quite believe it.

Now I must review SAW: THE FINAL CHAPTER, which is certainly one of the most distasteful things I've had to sit through recently.  (Though the opening segment did make me laugh).

Just found out that my buddy, old time bodybuilder Clarence Ross passed away at age 84 awhile back. Hadn't talked to him in several years, unfortunately, and had been wondering what he was up to.

We had some fun chats and as handsome as he was, I could not understand why he never got into the movies. He was just never interested, he said.

And just when you got him to the age of consent. The nerve!

TOD

I think I mentioned these before so here there are again.

Songs from all the Alice in Wonderland/looking Glass movies

and songs from plays/movies based on stories from Charles Dicken
Oliver!, Nicholas Nickleby, Mystery of Edwin Drood, Great Expectations, Mr. Quilp etc etc

or just a recording of song from the various versions of A Chrismas Carol

DR Elmore - traffic seems to be moving fine on Central Avenue.  Yes, I do like at-home vacations, but I'm still a little bummed about not waking up in Charleston, SC, this morning.

I understand, but after Canton, OH, what joys can Charleston provide?

Shrimp 'n' grits!

DR Ron - since we're not going to Charleston this trip, will we be able to get shrimp 'n' grits in Savannah?

You betcha!

TOD:

One idea I have toyed with would be having Ron Raines, Liz Callaway, Josh Groban, Julianna Pogue, Michael Buble aong others doing a selection of broadway and vaudeville standards. it could be a history lesson of sorts

It detail a particular decade, particular events in our history, etc

I've done almost seven pages so far.  I didn't really think I'd do that many before hearing from Muse Margaret, but I just sort of got going and was enjoying myself.  I shipped some packages, got a package and am now going to finish a motion picture on DVD.  Haven't heard a peep about dinner this evening.

That sounds like the start of a limerick. Perhaps someone can finish it?

Dakota, in answer to your question last evening, my favorite HAMLET is Richard Burton.  It is a totally minimalistic prodcution (Burton wears a black v-neck sweater), but stunning.  A dear friend that used to post on this board sent me a DVD of the Broadway production, which I originally saw back in 1964.

Wow, here is some more very sad news, John Dye, who starred in the TV series TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL died on Monday. He was only 47. Heart failure.

I loved that show and loved him. He is survived by a brother, his mother and his father.
