Sigh. You are a good person, Ginny. Take a small blanket for her. She'll be freezing.

Hospitals should have blankets you can request that have been kept in a warmer.  They feel really good.

My library got THE SOCIAL NETWORK yesterday. And since it's about a real person we are allowed to reserve it (they stopped letting us reserve movies, except those about real people). And since i "suggested" it they put it aside for me. So I will get to watch it this weekend.

We still haven't watched, maybe tonight.  Craig enjoyed it.  Remember it is a one sided story even if your library calls it a true story.

I agree with you about the last episode of HUMAN TARGET.  I hope the show is renewed.

BK, I'm curious about something you wrote in the notes.  How do you know that what you have is allergies and not a cold?  You said you were sneezing (which could be either). But then you said you had a sore throat. I've never heard of a sore throat for allergies. And sinus problems and congestion sounds more like a cold.

Sore throats are part of severe allergies and not fun at all.  I often have trouble knowing if I have the beginning of a cold or allergies.

DR FJL, I have no care if SPIDERMAN fails or succeeds. I know that I have no wish to see it, but it doesn't mean I wish it ill. I do care about the fact that it seems to be in previews forever, that little work appears to be done to fix it in the time it's taken, and that the producers continue to charge full prices for a preview performance (if fools are willing to pay that price, then so be it). Do you want it to run in previews for, let's say, a year, and then have them say, it's fixed! This show is going to be the next BEATLEMANIA and run forever without opening.  It seems to me, if the producers were smart, they'd have replaced the director and writers by now.

As to the reviewers, if the show had opened in New Haven, it would have been reviewed there and in every other city where it played preview performances. The producers could decide to keep it running and fix or to close. Why should a preview opening in New York be any different?

I agree with this.  And they are not, in any of their adverts, calling what they're doing previews.  It's not going to happen again because no producer is going to be amateur enough to try it again.  And Adam Feldman is offering an opinion, not fact.

I have a question, not about SPIDERMAN, but basically about any Broadway production that extends its Previews.  Is it possible that money taken in during previews would not be counted in as direct revenue for the show, but instead might be posted under some other miscellaneous category?

I don't know exactly what I am asking or implying, but I can't help but wonder the purpose of all these additional previews, if the show is not actually being reworked?

As for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark...

I think the whole pop culture aspect of the Spider-Man tradition, myth and franchise, along with Bono and The Edge's involvement in the show in a way trumps Julie Taymor's involvement.  There really was such a built in audience as soon as the project was announced years ago. Ms. Taymor was obviously(?) brought on to add some theatrical legitimacy to the proceedings. Of course, all after the delays and the injuries, Ms. Taymor has come under more scrutiny from the press and from those who already know her name, her work.  Sadly(?), I'm betting a good majority of the "audience" - past, present and future - doesn't really care who or what Julie Taymor is.  They just want to see Spider-Man come to life on stage, and/or they want to hear the latest works by U2. -How many moviegoers really go to see a film just because of who directed it?

Yes, the Press and the Reviewers can, do and will have an impact on the show in some form or another. However, I also believe that the Spider-Man fans, the U2 fans and their friends will have more of an influence simply through their word-of-mouth, Facebook status updates and Twitter feeds.

Regarding the music in SPIDERMAN, it seems to me that I read somewhere in one of the reviews or articles regarding the show, that there are only a couple of actual songs in the show.  Is that correct?

DR KevinH - have a great time in LA!  Did you wave when you flew over Ohio?

The mother turned to me after about 4 hours into the 6 hour flight and said "I need a break.  I'm going to switch with my husband.  You probably need a break too--why don't you switch with that lady?"

Hello from the Bucks of Star in downtown Burlingame.  Wasting some time before my next event.  I'm back at The Wedding Singer  tonight, but before that, a staff party at church in which I will only be able to attend for about a half hour.  I'm going to mark my sythh part for Working as I'll be sharing the part during the run.  I'm going to have to play piano and conduct for a few performances and someone will play my part, so the patch changes have to be clear.

We had one of our guys drop out of Altar Boyz today :(  One of the five whom I didn't know and was looking forward to working with.  He had some personal stuff come up.  So, we are now looking for a new "Abe".  We don't start for 2 weeks, but still, it's cutting it close.

And that's all I's got.

Yes, they do, but they are very very thin and cool off quickly. Our tiny little old lady who fell at church was freezing. We took her a fleecy/fluffy blanket, and she said it kept her warm.

Have you ever noticed that Greer Garson manages to kill off Walter Pidgeon in every movie they've made together?

In MRS MINIVER she made me want to kill myself! Does that count?

Only if you believe you are Walter Pidgeon.

Good morning, all! The mysterious neighbor above me was walking heavily about the apartment between 3 and 4 am this morning. I'm not sure anyone's really living there; I think it and the apartment above my neighbor are being used for office space. There are several reasons:
  1. I've seen no signs of any moving vans
  2. There's very little sound coming from the apartment above me, only occasional footsteps at odd hours of the day and, lately, night.

Be on the lookout, elmore, it may be a meth lab.

That's crossed my mind as well.

Every "true" story is a one-sided story! You've been carrying on about this film as if the founder of Facebook is an old friend you need to defend from bad people. So, let's go right to the point: is he? :D
