Shouldn't Hot Chocolate Festival Day be  a national holiday?

From John G.
Quote
Loved the Sherlock photos. Am glad I'm not in the snow, though.

Once a year works just fine for me.  I like walking with Sherlock on the fresh snow.  Tomorrow it will likely turn icy and not be fun anymore.

I still don't have internet, cable or landline phone service at home.  It's very frustrating.  Our management company is blaming the insurance company, but I wonder.

My left shoulder has been bothering me. Not sure what to do about it.  It's been bothering me slightly for a few weeks. But this monday at swimming it actually got uncomfortable.

I've tried a heating pad and icing it. But now it feels worse than before. :(

Is there a heat whirlpool where you swim?  If so you might find it helpful.  What strokes do you swim?  Switching what you do might also make a difference.

SHOULDER VIBES!!!

We're supposed to have winds up to 60 mph and lots of rain.   It's sunny right now, though.

Here is Charlie Sheen's reaction to the announcement that his show has been canceled for the rest of the season:

"What does this say about Haim Levine [Chuck Lorre] after he tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me. I gracefully ignored this folly for 177 shows ... I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can't handle my power and can't handle the truth. I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words -- imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists. I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong.

"Remember these are my people ... not yours...we will continue on together..."

Talk about throwing fuel on a fire...

 :(

Again, I feel terrible for his parents.  Prior to this his father was vocal about their concerns.

I don't think I'll be able to participate in the Oscar party unless I get a new phone with internet (or an ipad, etc).

Took a hot shower this morning and now my shoulder hurts more. Does that even make sense?

Did it feel better in the shower?  Mine does until I get out.  Everything I do after can make it worse.  Yesterday I did not wash my hair for that reason.

So...

I called Time-Warner the other night when I get home because I noticed that our cable and internet are not working...

"We have no current reports of a service outage in your area right now. If this not an emergency, please call back in the morning during regular business hours."

So... I call back in the morning...

"We still have no reports of a service outage in your area, however, it does appear that an amp may have blown. I will send a service ticket into the local office to investigate."

So... I call back again this morning...

"We still have no other reports of a service outage in your area... However, I did just notice that there are a number of modems that are currently off-line. I will send a truck out to investigate this afternoon."

So... It appears that all the repair work that ConEd did last week messed up Time-Warner's system. Of course, now that they now that, Time-Warner can't really do anything to repair the problem until the coordinate with ConEd - which, of course, is something only they can request, not I.

So... I've been getting a lot of laundry, cleaning and organizing done. I've continued my visits to The City Bakery for the Hot Chocolate Festival, and I've actually been getting to bed at a semi-decent hour since I haven't been able to watch any TV nor surf the web on my computer at home.

Otherwise... I'm OK.  -And you? ;)

The day I broke the internet I got a lot of things done.

Back from the doctor. Everything is fine. Thanks for all the vibes. I see him in one month for a final follow-up. There is some normal post-operative swelling but nothing else. My recovery is moving along and he's happy with everything that is NOT happening. I feel fine and look forward to a final appointment to end it all.

I do have to see my primary care doctor to fill him in on what happened but that will be quick and painless as well.

Kevin, I hope things clear up for you soon. It's amazing that things have changed so much and we are fairly dependent on the Internet and other communications devices.

My shoes are water repellent so my feet are dry and my coat is also water repellent so the top of me is dry but my pants are wet from the knees down. My umbrella broke on the way to the doctor and I wasn't going to buy another overpriced street umbrella for $5.

Overpriced because they are junking umbrellas that fall apart quickly?
