I can't believe I slept for 4 hours this afternoon.  Between the shoulder, the stress last month over the job stuff and being busy the past few weekends, it occurred to me I haven't had a chance to get some sleep.  Boy did that feel good

Nick Jonas is playing Marius?  he looks like he should be in diapers.

Well, how old/young was the "real" Marius?

Well, I don't believe that Michael Ball was seventeen when he first played the role.

Otherwise...

It was a good SETC conference.
I had a good conference.
I caught up with a bunch of friends, and made some new ones.
And it was great getting to spend some time with DR edisaurus and her ever-lovin' Greg again.

Awww, I just noticed the time.  I have to go and get ready for work.  Darn.  I'm recording CA so I'll have to see how it goes tomorrow when I get home from work.

I don't like the way that guy Richard handled David.  I hope he doesn't try that with MeatLoaf.

Two highlights of the conference:

-The first group of the last day started with Auditionee #521. When #530 finished his audition pieces, he re-announced his name and number, and then said, "And today is my birthday!" Well, I just couldn't let that go by without some sort of acknowledgement. I rolled a D7 chord, and then led the room in a very hearty chorus of "Happy Birthday". It was a great way to start the day.

-Later on on Saturday, a young man - #(I wish I could remember) - placed his music binder on the piano. I opened it, and he had taped two Godiva chocolate bars (one caramel-filled, one dark) to his music. "Those are for you." :)

Sometimes birthdays remind me I could be next and at the same time remind me to cherish every minute.
To be 100% honest, I don't expect to make it out my 60's.  All of my Dad's side of the family passed young.  Mom made it to 89 but I seem to follow Dad's side when it comes to weight, health problems, etc.  Of course, with Mom being an orphan I don't really know how old they lived to be.

That's not being gloomy, that's just the truth.

Now that I'm in my 60's the thought is more frighting-lol.  My mother was the oldest to go just shy of her 64th birthday.  I do have one female cousin on that side who is a year and a half older than I am.  I hear from her brother she is fine.  It was the anniversary of her older sister's birthday yesterday.

DR TCB your friend & his wife look too young to be going through this.  Between his story and the fact my cousin would have been 66 yesterday I'm feeling somewhat morbid.

Yes, Marcus is probably in his early 50s.  Lauren may be a couple of years younger.

Too young!!!!

All you single people out there looking to hook up with someone I just read this important news:

I did not read the entire story, this was enough to make me laugh out loud.

And in other news...

I'm still quite tired. "It" all caught up with me around 8:00 last night after I got back from dinner. I sat down in a chair in the lobby to check my email, and realized I had nodded off for a few seconds.  So, I walked around the convention center for a bit just to keep myself awake. There were two final receptions last night, and I wanted to make sure to see some folks before we all headed home. I made it to the first reception, and then since the second reception ended up starting later than originally scheduled, I went back to my room to pack my luggage. Well... The next thing I knew, it was 12:30am! I had fallen asleep in the desk chair. Oops! I decided to go head ahead and pop upstairs to the second reception, and, thankfully, there were still a lot of people. I made my rounds, then headed back to my room, and fell asleep. -This time in the bed. ;)

DR Elmore - a recent Facebook "enhancement" may be the reason for your not seeing DR TCB's post.  Click on the little arrow next to "Most Recent" and you get a menu.  Choose "Edit Options" and on that pop-up menu make sure "Show posts from" is set for "All of your friends and pages."  Otherwise, you're seeing only updates from those with whom you interact the most.  Be sure to save the changes before you close the window.

Thanks! I think I just accomplished it.

And now...

I just really need a good night's sleep. I have quite a busy week ahead of me, and sleep is a good thing.

Thanks for the Welcome Back's.

Goodnight.

OK, LES MIZ is over and I still think I liked the 10th anniversary better.  Won't be rushing out to buy the DVD of this one, but I'm glad I watched it.  This morning's 5:30am wake-up call has caught up with me, so - 'night!

Tonight on PBS (at least here) is the 25th Anniversary LES MIS concert!

I'm back from rehearsal (and have been for about a half hour) and it's on here, too!  It's about half way through, though.  I bought the (PAL, region 2 standard) DVD.  It's good enough for me. :)

I'll have to compare the two versions.  I have this DVD, too but haven't watched it in quite a while.

And what's REALLY interesting is that just checking "Bring Him Home" (it's what what just broadcast), my DVD is a half step higher! :o What's that all about? ???

Well I learned that earlier this week, my friend Jamie left her job as editor of the Greencastle Banner-Graphic.....and this is just as we start our big publicity push for our 50th anniversary....and we had mapped out a campaign.  Most distressing that she is gone.....details are sketchy.

HOWEVER.....I learned today that the NEW editor is the OLD editor who is also a big theater fan and a friend of PCPH....so perhaps it is not so bad after all.

We did NOT have a quorum for the meeting, so we just had some discussions - but could not vote on anything.

I did steal one idea from DR JOSE that he talked about last year at a theater celebration he had attended some time before.
