I'm going to have to look for some of the photos I have of her at Save the Park.  I think they are in my other computer. I'll have to post them

So...

My train ended up getting in 10 minutes "early" instead of the "29 minutes ahead of schedule" that was posted on Amtrak's website. I had three errands to run as soon as I got back. I got the first two done in record time - well, within 30 minutes of leaving Penn Station. Alas, the third errand took a bit longer than planned, but I got it done - and I don't have to rush around tomorrow morning taking care of it.

After my errands were completed, I headed to my friend's place on the UES, and then I met him down on the LES for dinner at the new storefront of Souvlaki GR. It's a beautiful space - like a house in Mykonos had been plopped down in the middle of Stanton Street. And the food was a good as ever.

And then for dessert we stumbled on the Little Cupcake Bakeshop. Yum! :)

BK, I spent the day in the car listening to your re-release of "Juno." Did you have to do anything to that recording when you transferred it? Does anything stick in mind?

Nothing to do with it - done after I left.  I'm sure they allowed Sony to do the transfer and let me tell you that is never EVER something you want to do.

And...

I believe the day - well, the past 36 hours has caught up with me...

Until the morning.

Goodnight.

Marilyn Maye has been coming to Okoboji maybe longer than I've been alive...maybe not quite...but at least since the late 60s. She's been there every summer...at least I think it's been every summer. I can't remember one without her. So, I have a special fondness for her.  And, she was there at one of the highest highs of my life.  The day we saved the park was probably one of the most incredible days of my life. We fought the unbeatable foe and won.  So, for my own personal reasons...I'll cheer for Marilyn.

Here's one of Marilyn and my friend Joe.  Looks like it was 1999. I was thinking it was 2000.  I didn't scan them all in, I'll have to go back and look for more. .

HIs shirt was the theme of our campaign...don't pass the point of no return (the sign at the top of our roller coaster) unless  you're screaming!

Time to quit reminiscing and get some sleep.  If anyone is interested here's a very short summary of the history of the park you can find that here http://www.arnoldspark.com/history.php?section=park
I will say the summary gives too much credit to the leaders...it was the people who saved the park...all the people
