Maybe Jesse on All that Chat meant to say UMBRELLAS OF CHERBOURG was catchy, and he wrote "kitschy" by mistake.

Anyone who would call the film of Umbrellas "kitschy" and who also fancies himself a "reviewer" even though he has nowhere to "review" other than a chat board, cannot be taken seriously.  He is a jerk.

I just found out that a friend of mine -- the one who always came and helped with medical stuff for the foster kitties over the years -- was found deceased in her home. She had been ill for quite some time.

Laura, I'm so sorry to hear about this.  My condolences to you and her family.

Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

With all the things for which they've suspended people in an "off with their heads" manner, Ann and Mike of All that Chat have clearly decided not to try to control what he is doing.  It seems to be a conscious decision on the part of Ann and Mike.

It's their board.  If it were my board I would tell him that there's no problem with him giving his thoughts on shows, but not couched to look like an actual review, which is his m.o.

I liked DR DRUXY's book....FAMILY SECRETS.....with all the names dropped here and there and all the skeletons set rattling, it's no wonder someone here or there would want to put the kibosh on it.

TOD:

My favorite sandwich (I typed it "sandwish") is cheese and avocado on whole-grain bread. Not many eateries serve it, but there's one I frequent here that used to offer custom sandwiches. They no longer do so, but I'm a good customer, so they do it for me. They call it a "Jeanne sandwich." These days I'm doing it on a whole wheat tortilla. It's good that way, too.

I'm looking forward to the new UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS. I'll be waiting for the DVD, though. I was pleased to see that Heidi Thomas is the screenwriter; I really respect her work. It'll be interesting to see how it's received. Sooo many of us LOVED the old series.

Larry has me intrigued with the new MILDRED PIERCE. I like the Joan Crawford version very much. No sign of it yet at Netflix. Next fall maybe?

The new font is much, much easier to read, which is a good thing for a book cover.   :)
