I followed the advice of my friend the building inspector and pulled up the carpet downstairs, well, at least where I could, some of it was glued even though I was sure they didn't glue it.  Anyway, there is some mold/mildew just around the edges and I think some of the drywall is wet on the bottom.  This is sort of good news, it's the wall that I've never liked and thought they didn't do well.  I'm not sure if I"ll have to cut some or all of it out.  I may call said building inspector friend and have him stop by and look at it.

There is very little mold on the carpet, but the carpet tack strips around the edges don't look too good.  I have another friend who lays carpet.  He was at the party tonight.   I may see if he'll stop by and look at it to see if I need to put in new strips. In some ways this was a very good day.  I never ask for help.  I think it's time I started asking.

In other news....can't wait for JEWS AND BASEBALL.  Amazon predicts an April 19 delivery date so it should be shipping soon
