Saturday night was going to be prom.  A local clothier is going to give all the boys tuxes with no rental cost and people are getting dresses for the girls and others are donating manicures and hairstyling.  I think it's cool that they are going to make sure the kids still get their prom
That's great.

It's nice that the surrounding cities are supporting Mapleton, Cillaliz.

It's only one of a number of towns that were hit that night, but it's the one I'm hearing about because it's to close

My dental check-up went well and I'm home from errands.

Remember when Richard, Rob, and I all applied for passports on March 16 and the clerk looked askance at my Oregon birth certificate?  Well, 2/3 of our household has received their passports - can you guess who has NOT?

Where you were born in this country shouldn't make a difference!!!!

I'm not sure that The Oregon Territiry ever became a state.

The latest news on my friend Richard is that he was able to respond nonverbally to a directive from the doctor, which is the first they've known he is alert. He's nowhere near being out of the woods, but that's certainly a good start.

And again, thanks for the vibes.

Back from all sorts of things, including a lovelier than lovely luncheon with dear reader Jeanne.  Got charts from storage, did errands and whatnot and am exhausted.

Got a fun 2DVD Image title today from eBay called Batmania, all about the ABC Batman series.  Both docs I've watched so far have been very good, one on the show itself, the other on Adam West.

Song of Norway, in a Brazilian import edition, arrived yesterday.  I have to say for all the brickbats that have been thrown at it, it really is a gorgeous looking movie, if nothing else.

Well, I understand that Hitler was a great dancer, but I wouldn't let him lead.

Are any of our East Coast denizens going to see LA CAGE with Harvey Ferstein and Christopher Sieber?  I would love to see that production.  I will freely admit that I have a huge crush on Christopher Sieber.  He may be a total jerk, for all I know, but I would swoon at the very chance of being in the same room with him.

Actually, Chris is a very kind and friendly person.

And he is dreamy!!

When you quote someone, you have to be sure to scroll all the way down to the bottom after all the text.

I tried watching it last year when it was shown on TCM. For one thing, the print was horrible and the performances weren't much better.  Very stagey and the sets were cheap.

I don't remember this one.

I had expected to hear some news today, but it is not going to happen this week.  My sister had blood work done by her doctor, two weeks ago.  Soon afterward, she got a call from the doctor's office, telling her that they were referring her to one of the Pacific Northwest most famous and respected oncologists and hematologists.

The test results showed elevated liver enzymes and extremely elevated white blood count.  There was a third thing, but my airhead sister admits that after the white blood count, she kind of tuned out.  She was supposed to see the specialist today, and quite frankly, I was expecting the worse. There was a scheduling mix-up, so the appointment has been rescheduled for hopefully next week.

So, for the moment I can put my worries and prayers for her on hold; and get back to trying to figure out to manage to find the rest of the rent before Monday

It was banned by the Catholic Church in Boston.  Probably because of boredom.

Well, I need to head out and go to our last rehearsal.  Our final dress is a $5 preview, and I don't doubt that it'll be packed.  Hopefully, everything will go well!

Until later!

It is amazing!  I know only one other person in Tacoma that has even heard of THE INNOCENTS; and yet, almost everyone on this site has mentioned it.

That is why I love you guys.

My first professional composing commission was when I was probably 14 or 15 and wrote the score for a production of THE INNOCENTS that played in SLC.  I believe I still have the main violin piece (didn't the little girl play violin?) lying around somewhere.

At about this time, ninety nine years ago today, the SS Titanic had already struck an iceberg that would, in only two hours and thirty minutes, send the "unsinkable ship" to its grave two and one half miles below.

You have to get past the final:

(/quote)  (replacing brackets with parentheses here so that it will show)
