We're home...after 2 nights in Fredericksburg, about a 2 hour drive from Austin.

We went there as a getaway for our 10th anniversary.

The town is an interesting place to visit, but we'd had it after 2 days, so we came home a day early.

The town's main claim to fame is that it's the birthplace of Admiral Chester Nimitz, and there are a couple of museums there in his honor.

We did visit a private Old West Museum, which was a highlight.

I thought the book was fine, I hated that stupid twist. I do think THE FOUNTAINHEAD says everything ATLAS SHRUGGED does, more efficiently and much more entertainingly.

It took about 90 minutes to accomplish my errands, NYPL and market. I found the Christ Child's Lullaby in a book of Christmas music that I'd given to the Miami University Library about a year ago! I photocopied the pages, stopped by the Jiulliard School Music Store to browse and took the bus up to the market. I'm making lunch and at 5, I will meet my friend Val from Barnes and Noble for dinner. I don't know where she will want to go, but it will be fun,

I have been to the fundraising brunch and on a couple of errands, not sitting here like so much fish. The site wouldn't let me log out in a timely manner before I left for the campus. The brunch was lovely - the crowd was bigger than before and there were more vendors, raffles, and silent auction items than last year.

I enjoyed that one, especially for the Mr. Collins and Charlotte story. But I didn't like it enough to read the whole series.

He's been signed to be the next Superman, so he should keep Mikey in thrall for a few years and in mind for dating in around 30 years.

I took a spin on my new bike. I'm going to like it but it is still a lot of work to pedal. I think there's a couple things that need tweaking but I'm definitely going to have to get in shape if I'm going to ride this very much

Richard and I just returned from a 13-minute walk around the neighborhood. Not only have I not walked for about 10 days, my cold/allergies/sinus infection have diminished my stamina and lung capacity. If I don't feel better by Monday, I think I'll go see the doctor.

I haven't read Fountainhead, if only that had been her first book I read.
