DR Edisaurus is Elton John's neighbor.

really?

She posted this on my facebook

Just a mile down Peachtree Street from us. Yet, he never calls, he never writes...he's on my walking route but I've never seen him. Here's a tour of his place---Oprah used to have a condo in the same building: http://popdirt.com/a-tour-of-elton-johns-atlanta-home/34298/

Good Evening!

So...

Here's my day in a nutshell:

-I walked in the rain.
-I ate steak.
-I ate soup.
-I ate cookies.
-I rode in an ice cream truck.
-I ate stinky tofu.
-I made 300 2 oz. portions of Ginger-Curry Milkshakes.

And now I'm, thankfully, off of my feet, and catching up.

So...

I went headed back to the James Beard Foundation "Pop-Up" in Chelsea Market, JBF LTD, earlier today for a couple of events.

First up was a "Steak Tasting". They had four different types of beef to sample. It was quite informative. And delicious. It was cool getting to try different types of beef side-by-side. -And since there weren't that many people there, most of us in attendance ended up being able to have a nice portion. :)

Then April Bloomfield and her chefs de cuisine from The Breslin prepared a Spring Soup. Beans (three types, sunchokes, asparagus, ramps, spring garlic, broccoli raab, shallots, some salt and some olive oil. It was quite yummy! -And, again, since there weren't that many people in attendance, well... :)

And, then finally, Emily Luchetti, author of "Fearless Baking", gave a talk about common mistakes made by home bakers. At the end of her presentation, she brought out her "3:00 PM Chocolate Pick-Me-Up Cookies". About six dozen of them. And there were only about 20 people there, so... :) *I should have brought a small box or bag. But I did manage to have four of them. ::)

And then Doug came and picked me up in the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, and we headed to DUMBO for the Lucky Rice Night Market. It was a fun event. Lots of different types of Asian food, as well as lots of beer, sake and gin. -I was not in the mood to imbibe tonight. In any case...

I did try the stinky tofu. It wasn't bad. -Although, each time that particular kiosk would drop a new batch of stinky tofu into their deep-fryers, the most "amazing" smell would just start wafting through the air.

And, yes, I made and poured 300 2 oz. portions of Ginger-Curry Milkshakes for the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck. They were a hit! -And once we hit 300, Doug, said I was done for the evening, so I got a good hour to walk around to taste some more food. :)

*One of my favorite finds was a line of bottled drinks from Prometheus Springs. They have a Lychee-Wasabi drink that really woke up my tastebuds! -Their Pomegranate-Black Pepper was really good too.

I can't read the Variety article - I see it for about a second then it tells me I have to join - I've attempted to do so many times but it never takes.
