I'm thinking maybe she wouldn't have missed the step on that stepladder if she had been wearing sneakers.

Tonight's treat: A deep-fried Twinkie with a deep-fried Oreo on the side. (I only had the teeniest taste.)

For once I am not tempted by a food posting

John G - OK. I really enjoyed it,as the first time I've ver seen it fully staged  - and it was much better in terms of holding together on Sunday.  Several of the supporting players were really really messy on Saturday, and Bernadette Peters either was under the weather or trying something unexpectedl with Losing My Mind but was vocally perfect on Sunday in a traditional way.

One note:  I hope Regine is having a great time doing this show, because her number will always be eclipsed by Linda Lavin's Broadway Baby, or at least that's how it felt even on Sunday night..

Who is Regine and what numberr does she sing?

Is that not what you wear when you refinish the doors?

If cars don't have ashtrays, do they also not have lighters?  With no lighter, where would one plug in the cell phone charger ???

They have electrical chargers that resemble cigarette lighters but don't have the lighter part that sticks in the hole, just a plastic cap that covers it

Oh, yeah, now that you explain it, DR Cillaliz, I realize that it's like that in my 2005 Vibe...duh.

I am returned from Joe Allen's where I spent a lovely evening with BK, Barry Pearl whom I'd not seen since THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X at NYMF, and Lauren(?) the Singer. I will let BK tell you all about how hopping the place was. I have to get to bed to be up early.

Regine, DR TCB, sang "I Never Do Anything Twice" in the film THE SEVEN PER CENT SOLUTION. I guess the fact she's European and had sung a Sondheim song once gave her the proper cachet for this production.

She sings "Ah, Paris" in this production, lest anyone be confused.  :)

Back from rehearsal and then dinner at Joe Allen, which, as elmore said, was really hoppin' tonight.  Barry was in fine form and The Singer (Laura) was had fun and it was grand to see elmore.  Barry was telling me our pal Kay Cole was in town directing a show and then, quite suddenly, there she was stopping at our table with Baayork Lee.  We had fun with them.  Then this weird-looking roly-poly fellow came in and sat down.  He kept looking over at us, especially me, and for a moment I thought it might be a dear lurker or someone listening to us dish the dirt.  Finally he came over and said, "Are you Bruce?" and the minute I heard the voice I knew exactly who it was - someone I hadn't seen since 1973 - Bud Cort.  I would never have recognized him, frankly.  But oh did we have a fun conversation and I got his number and address and we'll be getting together back in LA so I can give him a copy of my book, in which he appears.

Then in walked - wait for it - Joan and Jackie Collins!  It was quite surreal.  Then Ron Abel showed up with some mutual friends.  We were there for three hours and had a blast and I must now write the notes.

And DR Laura wears more sensible shoes when she climbs ladders, Wedgies of course.
