Well, you've read the notes, the notes were Wacky and written on a Wednesday (barely), and now it is time for you to post until the Wacky Cows come home.

I have a presentation and meeting today so I won't be around much (not that I'm around that much anyway).

Jose - we are going by bus to Hershey - so we have no control over stopping - I am one of the chaperones for the trip - between the chaperones and the performing groups we have a little over 200 people going  so four Hampton Jitney busses are leaving the school at 6:30 AM(!) tomorrow -

We won't be back until Sunday  and I will not have computer access  so no slapping or exploding heads please

Dessert recipe? I had one recently that was really easy and quite wonderful: Local ricotta made from goat cheese mixed with really ripe strawberry quarters, a drizzle of honey and a sprinkling of crushed fennel seed on top. I'm sure it would work with blueberries, blackberries or raspberries, too. And if you didn't like the licorice flavor of the fennel, cinnamon would work.

Thursday morning greetings!  I have to be at the senior center up the street this morning for an organizational meeting of the fundraising committee.  Gonna see if I can put into practice what I used to preach at the library.

Good morning, all! I have no idea what's going on in my subconscious, but I've been having colorful dreams every night. I remember bits of three from last night: George Balanchine's ballet DON QUIXOTE and my inability to sing "Home on the Range" (I couldn't remember the last lin about cloudy skies), a police murder investigation and concealed evidence, and a summer/regional/community theatre production, a car, and a philandering husband.

The laundry is in the washers, and I will tidy a bit before I get down to work on the Appalachian piece. At Toyland yesterday, I determined the keys for two numbers, "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" and "Christmas Time's A-Comin," and transcribed "Good Ol' Mountain Dew" from a recording. I have until my meeting on Saturday at noon to copy out leadsheets for these three with a few vocal harmonies and finish up a clean copy of "West Virginia Mine Disaster."

That's my next couple of days.

DR Jose, I too liked THE HANGOVER, although it took me about 30 minutes to get into it and find it funny. I remember that I took Charlotte to see it and I kept thinking, this is funny? Once I relaxed and went with it, I laughed myself silly.

I don't have no stinking recipes.

I have to take my brand spanking new suit to the cleaners to have it pressed for the anniversary luncheon and open house one week from Saturday.

And I have to decide what to wear for tomorrow when we meet the Mayor for her proclamation for Putnam County Playhouse, and be photographed for the newspaper!

We invited all past presidents to join us....so I am not sure how many people we will have, but shall see in about 24 hours.

I love the new CAMELOT recording and can't recommend it enough.

I've always liked that recording, and I never thought I'd wind up with a fantastic CD reissue. EMI London was pretty lousy about reissuing their show recordings, but we have it now, thanks to BK.  I have a copy of the London production, which reflects all of the changes made for London, like the new overture with chorus, and the new dance music. I'm still sorry no one's recorded "The Persuasion."

DR JRand60, did you know I have a complete performance CD of the 1960 Broadway production?

TOD:

I don't have any dessert recipes handy, but I do have tips on making Rice-Krispie treats:  Do not cook the marshmellows in the microwave.  This will cause your treats to be too dense.  Cook them in a pan on the stovetop.  For a tasty variation, stir in a bag of Nestles morsels to the mixture after you remove it from the heat.
