jennifer did you look up the medication?

No. I'm sort of afraid to check.  It's called amoxicilline.  So far the side effects are drowsiness and diarrhea. Yippee. :)

eat binding foods like a plain baled potato or basmati.  when you are done take if you don't already.  it not only helps the digestive system but fights east infections caused by antibiotics.

I actually don't even know what acidophilus & bifidus are. I"m sure i'll be okay. I haven't had antibiotics in quite a while. But i usually do fine with them.

everyone should take it when they use antibiotics.  check it out.

We quite enjoyed WATER FOR ELEPHANTS, but I kept thinking, "I'll bet the book is even better."  It's now on my list to read soon...

Make the book a group discussion pick-absolutely wonderful!

I would make it a book group selection, DR Jane, but I think everyone else has already read it.

i've been talking to craig who returned from a 7 hour hike.  i admit i was somewhat relieved when he returned home as my hiking group does the same hike in about 2 hours & we don't go fast.  he started farther down the road than we do & went in circles on the hike as the snow covered the trails, which are poorly marked to begin with.  he had a great time but is glad he didn't need to spend the night up there.  i told him i was sure i could have found some one to tell him where to find the trail.
i hope his photos came out.

Oh well.  I guess the big question now is where were you when the Rapture didn't happen?  I was out with Thelma and her husband Bill having dinner.

Thanks everyone for the comments on the pictures, I appreciate them.

Next Saturday is our appreciation luncheon for as many board members from the past 50 years as we could find.....or at least those who responded to the invitations.

Right now we have about 52 people coming.....which is a nice number.

AND I stole an idea that DR JOSE wrote about from the Arena Stage anniversary.....a reading of names of former board members who have shuffled off this mortal coil.

I have spent the day watching Bollywood horror films from the 1980s. Now my brain is a wreck.

Okay, I have avoided reading anything about this stupid end of the world thing.  So, who believed it, did people stock up on food and stuff like the last time one of these silly things passed and do people ever admit they were wrong?

I was cutting drywall off the area where the water has leaked in, scraping dirt and trying to fix the hole I found in the concrete, if I thought for a second I would be "raptured" and wouldn't be in this house any more, I wouldn't have bothered  ;D

I had quite a day.  Paul and I went to breakfast and ran into Edith and her husband Chris.  I went to the farmer's market and got rhubarb.  I got my car serviced and found out it has increased in value after the disasters in Japan as that's the only place they make the Prius.  I worked on fixing the spot where the leak is happening ( see above).

I took a rest (much needed rest - I may add) and noticed smoke billowing past my window.  I thought "What the..." and heard a fire truck  So I ventured out and when I looked down the hill I saw smoke and flames, so I walked around and down the hill and watched the firemen put water on a camper that somehow had burst into flames when the owners tried to start it for the first time this year.  A lady who had clearly stopped mowing the yard mid-mow, said she saw the flames and the explosion as the propane tank or whatever was on board exploded.  Quite the excitement

The weather got strange and we had a lot of thunder and lightning, but missed the really bad stuff.  The cats were gathered around me.  I'm glad that's where they want to be when it's stormy.  It would make it a lot easier to get them somewhere safe if I need to

While it stormed, I watched The Freedom Riders on American Experience on PBS.   It was very good.

I'm bummed about what looks like a big expense to fix the basement room where the water is coming in.  I was pleased to see that the mildew hasn't climbed the back of the drywall very far, but still have to cut the bottom off all along one wall.  at least the damage is on the wall where they screwed it up for the light switch.  It's going to be a pain.   I need to call someone good at cement work and I really don't want to think about how much it's going to cost,....blah

Hi Jose!  Sounds like you had a great time in the Library over night.  I bookmarked the game but haven't had a chance to look at it....been seeing fire and rain today.    :)
