So, for the first time in probably fifteen years, I lugged out Ye Olde 16mm projector and ran a 16mm print.  This print was a pan and scan of a scope film and completely faded to purple.  But, I was able to see how the music was used (the music editor basically just used what she wanted where she wanted - the score was recorded by reel number, so it was easy for me to assemble it - that said, that assembly does not resemble the film's use of the score at all - and I don't give a flying Wallenda), and, more importantly, I was able to write track titles and I took some notes for the writing of the liner notes, which I've now got to add to the pile.

After that, I watched a bit of the French DVD of the same film, just to see what was cut in the American version.

By that time, it was simply too late to watch anything else.  I also have to make an order for the Gardenia show, I have to get some writing done, and I guess that's what I'd better do.

DR Elmore - those notes are beautiful!

Thanks, DR Ginny. I only spent the first 60 years of my life trying to escape that past, and now I wish my dad were alive to be at tomorrow's presentation. I just hope that someone in tomorrow's audience sees something in what we're doing beyond a lot of country yokels escaped from the Grand Ol' Opry.

It's certainly been a nostalgia trip!

Well I'm about to call my date and say forget it, working on cars or me, get with it.  It's 8:30 already.   I think I'm in for the night, dressed but seriously thinking about making that call.

DR elmore - Beautiful notes.

-Just what kind of project is this? For some reason I thought this was just going to be a song cycle of sorts. But now it sounds more like a show-show.

Man, someone just went tires a squealing around the corner by my house.  I heard a thud like it hit something, but by the time I got up and looked out the window it was gone.  Hope it didn't damage anything

Spent the evening writing a paper on "The Sun Also Rises." Not my favorite novel and not my favorite writer. Thankfully, some Sibelius came in to the library today, so I at least had dramatic music in the background.

Yes, I have plans to. In fact, I had to turn down a ticket offer for tonight.  I know the ticket guy at ACT, I should be able to get a single at some point.

And Grease certainly was the word this evening as the show was great.  Or "cute" as my mother put it.  However, her DP was rather impressed that I got the 8th grade boys to sing (as he just retired from teaching 8th grade PE) - it was a great show.  I'm proud of them.  Next week, graduation.

This is funny...I think:

I just got a message from a friend of mine on FB...somebody I've known for years and did a play with back in college.

Her FB account had, obviously, been hacked, since this was an offer for me to go to a particular website where I could make $150K.

So, I sent my friend a message on FB, asking if she sent me that message, and "she" immediately replied, "Yes," and that I should go to that site.

And, while I'm typing a reply, "she" starts a chat session with me.  "Yes," she says "I am ***".

This goes back and forth a couple of times, and then I ask her: "If you're really ***, what did you play in the show we did together (answer: a mermaid) and where did we do it (Penthouse Theater at the UW)?

"Don't you trust me?"

"Sure I do.  Answer the question."

So, while I'm waiting for an answer, I phone ***...and she answers and, of course, knows nothing about this.

Then, I write in the chat session: "I'm talking to you on the phone right now.  Why don't you know that?"

Suddenly, they were off line.

 ;D

DR Druxy - I'd be sure to change your FB password too just in case.

I certainly would go up there to see Judy - that is if I had any interest in the show.  But, who knows.  Just have to get through the next week without either exploding or imploding.  I should be writing right now but I'm all in and can't.  So, after the mix session in the morning and picking up some tapes from the MGM vault and before our rehearsal, I shall try to do some writing.  Then on Saturday I should have at least three hours to write, although I also have to do the contextual commentary for the Gardenia show and the new liner notes.  See what I mean?
