Druxy at least might get a kick out of this:  I'm catching up on some reading and cracked open the May/June issue of SCRIPT, the inside cover and first page of which are emblazoned with a two page ad touting their "Big Break" contest.  In a huge font across both pages it states:  CONTEST DEADLINE JUNE 1, 2001.  :)

Okay....

But, why me?

Jose - What?  No mention of the OKLAHOMA tribute parody video from last fall?  :) :)

"Everything's Up to Date at the Arena"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kIMKGkAaRM

I actually believe that made the "Press Packet" from the Fall run. .....

Yay, very cool!

I just watched bits and pieces of a documentary called "Guys 'N Divas: Battle of the High School Musicals" on LOGO. From the IMDB:

"A documentary on the intensely competitive world of high school musicals in Southern Indiana, with a focus on three schools that spend tens of thousands of dollars on their productions in order to compete for admission to the International Thespian Festival."

-One school spent $14,000 on a production of an original(!) musical. WOW!

Tonight, my wife and I watched THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU.

My son gave be a DVD of that and UNKNOWN for Father's Day.

I guess I have to hang my head in shame again, because I enjoyed that one also...

 :'(

...with the exception of the ending, which I thought was very weak.

 :)

Matt Damon and Emily Blunt are both very likable and they have excellent chemistry.

Well, the tech table table is set up in West - which is opposite the bandstand, so... West.

And since tomorrow is another rehearsal day for me... -Although, we're not starting until 11:00 tomorrow morning. -Yeah! -And then after rehearsal, a new restaurant by the theatre is hosting a reception for us. The restaurant will be opening officially on Monday, and I guess they just wanted to go through a trial run of sorts. In any case...

I'm gonna walk the dog, and then get ready for bed.

Goodnight.

LOL-I'm thinking of DR Cilla who got into the car with Keith & me to go to the second gathering at DR JMK's.

I was going to say something about that.  You were the first HHW DR I met in person on the way to JMK's house.  I believe it was Jane and Keith, George, JMK and Betsey and me...hope I'm not forgetting anyone.  It was memorable because it was my first HHW get-together and I was very relieved to find I liked everyone just as much in person.  I remember telling DR Jane when they dropped me off that now I knew I wanted to go to New York

Dinner with Ben and Ant....gees  I've had a lot of really good times with you guys  :)

Today was really great. Larry Smith, the friend with Parkinson's who rode his bike 300 miles across South Dakota finished his ride and I was there at the celebration as he crossed the finish line.   It was such a great day.

I also went shopping tonight.  Since I stupidly threw away my fat clothes when I lost all that weight, I have no summer clothes that fit me.  Well I didn't until tonight. there was a great sale going on so I got a lot of stuff.   I feel much better now

I went to Gavins Point Dam today.  I didn't have my camera. The amount of water is just incredible.  It was perhaps matched only by the line of cars waiting to get close to the spillway on the South Dakota side of the river. I decided not to wait that long, so I drove across the dam and watched from the Nebraska side where there wasn't a line.   It was farther away, but I could see the power of the river just fine from there

Just stumbled across this song from "The Visit." Makes me want to hear the rest of Kander and Ebb's score:

Just spent the last three hours writing the contextual commentary - glad to have it out of the way, but not exactly a fun way to spend a Saturday night.  I'm sure I'll finesse it, but I think it's snappy and has some funny stories.

Saw a local production of [Title of Show] this eve at TheatreWorks (of Silicone Valley) which had 2 cast members from NY, Farah Alvin and Jamison Stern, a local person and another I didn't know.  The first 3/4 of the show is good, but when they added the part about going to Broadway, it sorta lacks.  I love the show for all its references and stuff like that, and the cast did a great job.  They portrayed their characters well.  I sorta thought I wanted to do this show at some point, but I think I don't anymore.  Good to finally see it and get it out of my system.

DD Ben is awesome.

Topic of the Day:

I've been to more HHW gatherings in Portland than anywhere else...three (or would it be four?) with BK.

A mini-gathering with just PennyO and I twice (once, she was part of the reading of a play and the second time was seeing her "Jewish Thighs on Broadway" in North Bend, Washington)

Meeting Fred, Skip and Julie at the reading of The Last Starfighter in Issaquah, Washington

And I think TCB and I had lunch with Fred and Skip, as well.
