3 to go = INSANE
What a wonderful night it was!
I arrived at the theatre early, about 7:10pm, and I was grateful for the extra prepping time, esp. after walking in the stage door and having a huge and beautiful box of red roses and Godiva chocolates waiting for me!!! I never expected anything that beautiful to arrive for me in LA, esp. my last few days with the show, and I was so touched when I read the card and realised they are from my friend Olli, in Florida.
I carried the beautiful gift into the dressing room and shared the Godiva truffles (and truffles are the ONLY way to go when speaking chocolate) with the girls, taking a bite out of maybe 4 and then throwing the rest away (I could have eaten them all, but I'd hate myself for it later!).
Moments later, Diane walked in with a large and gorgeous bouquet of flowers... all different kinds... from my friend Katie, who I did Wizard of Oz with and who was at the show tonight! I was stunned by her generosity, and by this point, overwhelmed by the 2 wonderful and thoughtful acts of friendship!
THANK YOU KATIE AND OLLI! They really brightened my night! I feel so spoiled, Sunday is going to be a let down after this! *laugh*
The show was v. good, but we all were having some weird issues. For me, it was my balance... I was a little unsteady during all of my quick changes, and certain people kept running into walls and each other, etc. Kinda amusing, but the show was still v. good. And it FLEW by!
I've been spending lots of time with my digital camera, and I've included ones I took over the last couple of days. The ones tonight are especially fun, since I had so many friends here!
After the show, there were 11 people waiting for me, including Katie (from Oz) and her sister and friends, my former voice teacher from high school, Diane, and her husband Chris, my mum, and my best friend Heather (who's getting married to the Beatle guy!) and her mum Erika!
Although I was thrilled to see them all, and the girls looked so beautiful, I felt stressed trying to balance my attention between everyone, and I wished I could have more individual catching up time with them all. I love them, esp. the girls, Ali, Katie and Heather, and it's always so difficult when so many loved ones see the show all in one night!
After we chatted and took pictures at the stage door, we walked to "formerly Ottos" (as I've come to call it, for lack of knowing its new name!) and had tea and dessert. This afforded me the chance to talk with everyone a little more, though I still left feeling badly for not spending MORE time with everyone! We'll be planning Disneyland trips and dinners soon!
So much to do, so little time! I'm waking early tomorrow to finish my mosaic frame and search boxes I've been sending home for the gifts for my friends. Then 2 shows, and dear friends attending the night one!
What's everyone doing for Memorial Day? I'm going on a hike in Malibu with my mum and then hitting up a friend's beach party till the wee hours of the night! HURRAH!
Night all! *yawn*
