BK,

I've seen WENT THE DAY WELL.  In fact, I think I still have the DVD in a WW2 box set.

It's a good movie.  I remember liking it very much.

Here's the teaser trailer for NAPOLEON BRANDY, one of the stories in my new book.

This one was really a lot of fun to write.

Well, damnation! I have to make the schlep to Water Street because the asses at Health Plan of New York have not processed my check of July 22 and the check of August 3 is sitting somewhere in priority mail limbo because they haven't visited their post box. Color me really pissed. So I have to given them a third check today. To add insult to injury my bank is charging me $30 to stop payment. God damn them all to hell.

DS Gabe is attempting to build his own computer and needs something known alternatively as thermal paste and/or thermal grease, which sounds like a home intimacy aid.  ;)

Did someone at their office tell you that they haven't collected their mail yet? If so, well...

Otherwise, since you're sending money to a P.O. Box, I'd pay the extra 35(?) cents for Delivery Confirmation. Since it is going from Post Office to Post Office, that would give you some real proof that your payment was sent and received on time.

Saw in the news that American Express, while charging FIFTEEN PERCENT interest on card balances in this economy to people drowning in debt, is turning around with that very income and donating $1-million to historic grants in Minneapolis - St. Paul.  Something about that feels wrong, can't quite put my finger on it, but....

Minneapolis always makes a great chance to parody the Mary Tyler Moore Show theme

I am listening to Icehouse this morning.  Whenever I listen to this band I can't help but think of the night Betsy and I were watching a DVD and turned it off and the broadcast news alert came on informing us first that Princess Di was gravely injured and then a few minutes later that she had died.
