Is she feeling better now, Dan (the Man)?

Yes, she is, DR Laura.  The drain bag on her gall bladder bothers her sometimes (the stitches that keep it in place, mostly.)  But she's pretty much back to her self and is actually happy that she is getting daily physical therapy (though it wipes her out at the end of the day.)

I can tell she's getting better because she is already doing things she is not supposed to do yet (shuffling her wheelchair around her room and into the bathroom, getting out of and into bed on her own, etc.)  But she does know her limits and I don't think she'll do anything foolhardy (at least I hope not...)

Yes, that would make me laugh.

NOT!

Well, this is truly weird.  Betsy had told me to hold down CTRL and use the scroll wheel on the mouse to affect font size and nothing happened.  Then she said rather curtly ;) "Are you in an email?"  And I told her no, and she realized she had left out one salient piece of info, so I did that in an email and now fonts are displaying correctly.  Ya learn somethin' everyday, I tells ya.

JMK, you can also hold down CTRL and type either "+" or "-" to make browser font sizes larger or smaller.

Thanks to all for the vibes for my mom.  She wound up not having her gall bladder taken out and is now doing time in a rehab facility until she is back to her independant self again (prolly another week or so.)  In about five weeks or so, she'll return to the hospital to remove both her gall bladder and the stent in her bile duct.

Very good news, Dan (the Man)!

Medicare, Emblem Health (my HMO), and I are happily married now.  I understand all the invoices now and I can sleep easy.

That's something good off my back.

And the refrigerator still works.

Larry, congrats on your successful marriage and congrats on the still-working fridge!

DR Elmore - your refrigerator probably works even better now that you've defrosted it.  Be sure to keep your freezer full for maximum efficiency...

I just got a bootleg of the Ohio Light Opera JUBILEE: someone has revised all of my work concerning the three saxophones, which they do not have in their orchestra pit, and it sounds pretty god-awful. I'm rather happy I missed it, but i'm also bummed that this travesty is credited to me.

Hey, Mike Barnum, check your e-mail. I think you got hacked. I just got a message from you. I responded so you can see what I'm talking about.

I've rejected today's candidates for the role of Eileen, so we're back to the drawing board: three roles left to cast now: Eileen, Sir Reggie, and Shaun the smuggler.

I have to bus into midtown for dinner with a friend. We're meeting at Nizza at 44th and 9th Avenue.

Good news.  She should be stronger by the time she has surgery, on the other hand I bet she wishes it was over.

Good morning, all!  DR Jose, welcome back to NYC!

This is day of personal business at home: call Medicare and straighten out some things, schedule a barber appointment for tomorrow, call the Kurt Weill Foundation, and defrost the refrigerator. Yes, this is the day. I can no longer procrastinate. At 9 am, the project begins.

Thank you all for the vibes for my friend. He's a complete mess at the moment. Ron Raines' comment last night on our mutual friend is "I'm afraid he's headed over the cliff." I'm amazed at the choices he's made and the mess he's got himself into. "I am a camera" indeed! All I can do is watch, pity, and pray he'll get his act together, but I doubt it. Pray for him.

I will.

Sam, I would much rather see you give in to the temptation of food rather than alcohol.  Going on a diet is easy compared to being in recovery.  I will pray for you today.
