Thanks, Elmore. Hope the day goes well for you and your schedule is as fruitful as BK's first day of filming.

Recording and filming vibes all around.

I did meet my friend at his arrival gate, and we chatted a bit as he made his way to baggage claim. Fun!

My luncheon plans have fallen through, which is fine, so I may walk down to the National Gallery and stare at some paintings. I'd like to walk over to St George's Street to visit a couple of music shops but I believbe that's the territory for tomorrow's rehearsal.

Something weird just happened on this page--none of Jose's posts showed--his name was there and his signature, but nothing in the post area.

Betsy is about to leave for a quick trip to Reno, which I am hoping does not include a quickie divorce.  ;)

Because this is America, she will fly to Reno via Seattle.

Since we're having Zach's Bar Mitzvah party here (and at this private neighorhood's fancy schmancy rec center), I sprung for one big new chair and 5 bar stools.

Now I only need to come up with about 45 more chairs and we're set.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I have a to-do list that includes some phone-calling, some household puttering, some bill paying, and grocery shopping.

I'm baaaaaaack!!!!

I've been to the National Gallery, which is under renovation, so I didn't see a lot: a Picasso, a Peter Breughel, a Caravaggio, a Peter Paul Rubens, a Fragonard, and a Van Gogh, among others. There was a beautuful Fleming painting from the time of Rubens of people skating in the snow and another wonderful snow painting of a regiment of soldiers from 1876 that was quite realistic. The museum has a ton of paintings from Jack Yeats, and I liked many of them.

Then I walked next door to the Museum of Natural History and looked at a lot of insects - some goirgeous butterflies, DR Laura! - many many stuiffed birds and animals. They have skeletons of enormous deer overr 10-feet tall, I'd guess, along with other fauna and sea creatures. I was bored rather quickjly. After awall of sponges, I thought genug ist genug.

Then I went to Tesco's, a supermarket chain, and bought some chips asnd chocolate for an occasional munch, and I'm back at the hotel to wait for dinner.

DR Ginny, do you have any idea if my gift arrived in Michigan? I worry that I've purchased for the wrong couple!

Yes, DR Elmore, Mary Linda mentioned that they'd received a gift from you!  She will do this more elegantly: THANK YOU!
