I stopped into thre Bank of Ireland for some currency exchange and I found DR MBarnum's next fantasy. So, Mikey, plan your trip to Dublin for 2051. He should pay me a fee for my help.

Didn't you at least get a snap-shot?

Thanks to DR MBARNUM for the card and pkg. that arrived today!

That got there fast! There were some other movies I wanted to send to you, but I didn't get them copied in time to send. Hope you will enjoy those that did get sent, however!

Safe and enjoyable travel vibes for DR Elmore.

I hope you are bringing me back a big, hairy Irishman trinket.

Oh, Lawsy, I have been giggling all morning over Peter Stormare's priceless reading of the line "Un-guent, I need un-guent" from Fargo.

Just learned that 1930s child star Sybil Jason has passed away.

Having written a couple of books about life in Hollywood she was a frequent contributer to a Film Writers forum I used to visit.

I finally met her in person at the last Hollywood Show in Burbank that I attended. She was very sweet and we became Facebook friends shortly afterwards.

Southern Expression of the Day:

"I suwanee".   It's pronounced "I SWAN-ee".  It means "I swear".

I've read that it's on its way out of usage.  I blame several decades of yankee influx down south.  They just didn't cotton to it, I guess. ;D

Larry, what a great thing to give to the Library!

Glad that it all went well for you. I wish you could stay on for a few more days (paid for by the producer) to see more of Ireland. This time of year is a wonderful time to be there. You could stay in a thatched roof bed and breakfast, you could kiss the Blarney Stone (though that's on the West side of Ireland), you could mosey into Belfast. All sorts of fun things.

DR Ben, we have an extra copy of the new full score here, so I'll give that as well. I'll write on it 'uncorrected proof' because we are still finding errors.

I wish I could see more ofr the country, but I think this is the first of more work here, so I'm quite excited about that. I got a really beautiful email this morning from our lead tenor about how much the experience meant to him. I was very touched by it.

That's wonderful, Larry!  Congrats on the great experience!

CDs are shipped, I've done the four-mile jog, and Juliana and her boyfriend are running ten minutes late, which is par for the course for them.  I have to be back here by two and the later they are the harder it will be to get in somewhere to lunch.

I'm glad to hear that Doris Day is releasing her first album after 17 years

Thank you.

When we were in Carmel we asked to go into an artist's gallery.  He was a bit hesitant at the size of Sherlock's tail but said Doris wouldn't forgive him if he said no. :)

DR Ginny, I would have preferred a pint of Haagen Daz as well, but after seeing myself in the many many mirrors on the walls of my room's bathroom, it's time for a salad-only diet for at least six months.

Today, I will pack,  make a visit to the pharmacy around the corner for aspirin with codiene - I'm stocking up for my next crippling round of sciatica or whatever it was that laid me low in 2009

Good luck with your diet.  Losing weight should also help with the sciatica, or whatever it is.  Are you able to purchase the meds without a script?  Are they less expensive there than home even with insurance?

I've decided as well that I'm going to give my bound photocopy of the full orchestra score we used to make this edition to Ireland's National Library for its collection. I think that would please Mr Herbert.

That is very nice of you & I'm sure it will be appreciated.

Thursday morning greetings!  We did, indeed, have quite a thunderstorm last night.

This morning I'm meeting my Mother at her eye doctor's office.  I'm afraid she's not going to like what he tells her...

TOD:

Aside from Broadway show numbers, when I was young, my favorite songs were:

"Moments To Remember"
"The Wayward Wind"
"Thunder Road"

I still love THE WAYWARD WIND.

Ooh!  Ooh!  Another "musical memory" (that may also be one of DR JMK's):

"These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you."

Whatever happened to Nancy Sinatra anyway?

When I'm in my car I hear her talking on Frank's station.

Afternoon of a faun?

I posted the photo before I knew it would be included in my response for today.  I listened to all music as a child, classical being one of my favorites, especially AFTERNOON OF A FAUN.

There's an AP story on the internet right now associated with Hurricane Irene.

It's headline:  "Sarah Jessica Parker prepares for Hurricane Irene".

I thought maybe I would be reading about a very timely show -- possibly improv -- with Parker playing Irene.  But, no.

She and her family are "battening" down the hatches, so to speak.  She and hubby and twin daughters and son.

Oh...and she has a new movie coming up.

The "timely" story, plucked from the the most immediate of today's top news, is by one Nicole Evatt.  Must be with the "entertainment" wing of the AP.

Seriously, though, of all the people on the Eastern Seaboard that I might have been worried about in the face of Hurricane Irene, it was NOT Sarah Jessica Parker and her family.

Sometimes, the trite is just so jejune.

Now that I've joined the Y I'm working out at the gym with the theater crowd.

Charles Robinson, of NIGHT COURT fame, was there today.  He is in great shape.
