Hopefully that will change or there will be no more foreign film soundtracks from us.

Monday morning greetings!  Today I will confer by phone with the banquet manager in Michigan about numbers for the rehearsal dinner.  We're at 67, with only 3 unknowns, so I think we'll have them set up 9 tables of 8 and plan food for 75.

I've just had a phone call from our DR vixmom: some flooding in the basement,  and they have no power and no ability to use their cell phones. She called me from work.

She sends her love and says they are all fine; dry ice is keeping the refrigerator food cold, and that the damage was far worse with Hurricane Gloria.

I'm off to run errands.

DR Elmore - thank you so much for the update on the Vixfam.  I suspected they were without power - hope they're back on the grid soon!

TOD:

BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID
THE WILD BUNCH
THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE
GOODBYE, MR.CHIPS
THE REIVERS
*

*I did John Williams' Best Original Score Oscar campaign on this one.  We got the nomination, but did not win the statuette.

I always felt that we should have won.  Bacharach may have had the Best Song with "Raindrops," but Williams' music for THE REIVERS was magnificent.

We are closed Monday.

We will probably stay in the city this weekend instead of going to Long Island since we were just out there two weeks ago.

Little effect from Irene on my part.  No loss of electricity, no water in the basement and very little debris in the yard.

My office building in Conshohocken is closed due to the entire street it's located on being flooded, but I wouldn't have been able to get out there anyway because the train service out that way has been suspended.  It would be a day off for me but I elected to come into our client's office in Philly to get the comp time.

Mom is doing well in the hospital but she is getting antsy.  My sisters and I don't want them to discharge her until we can see that Mom has no leg swelling or infections to take back to the rehab center.

I just came from the vampire's blood lab, where I was needled once in each arm, but no blood was drawn.  When they offered to try getting it from the back of my hand, I said, "Let's just forget it for today."

Yowch, DR Ginny!  I've seen the same thing with my mom the past couple of weeks except they are more insistant that they get what they came for in the hospital.

DR Dan (the Man), I could tell from the demeanor of today's tech that the result would not be good.  She was very tentative and not at all confident.

I watched my Hullabaloo DVD's last night and saw MR BK's friend David Winters in a couple of nice numbers.....he was choreographer for the show!

Also saw Miss Donnie McKechnie in several numbers....and after watching seven episodes, I can do the boys' steps to the opening song!  ;D

While watching the new episode of DR WHO on Saturday night, Comcast interupted at key plot points three times with insanely loud tornado warnings which were already dated.  They need to get their act together!

Hmmm..none of the other girls can even keep up with Donnie McKechnie.

Goldie Hawn is in there--is that Chelsea Brown on the far left?

Lest we forget, 1969 was also the release of Once Upon A Time In The West in the US, and it also gave us the supremely weird and egomaniacal Can Hieronymous Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe And Find True Happiness? starring Anthony Newley.

Not good!  You want a lab tech who wears a tool belt and enters the room like Paul Bunyan in drag. One of my favorite vampires responded to my caution that "I have rolling veins I'm told" by remarking: "That's just an excuse from someone who can't get the job done right the first time".

She hit a vein the first stab and filled all eight vials without ado.

I have the same thing happen, Ginny, and unfortunately I now have to have regular blood draws since I'm on cholesterol meds.  I have had the phlebotomists actually reach their "quota" of attempts on me.  It's horrifying.
