the bad news was there was an almighty BANG!! under the bonnet of Vixdad's car  - the car had a sudden hard shift . all the indicator lights came on and then all the  dashboard lights went out.  The headlamps began to dim and we were on a 6 lane highway

I'm suspecting there's a high terrorist threat, possibly 9/11 alarms, in NYC at the moment: lots of subway alerts about untended bags and an interview on tv this morning about Al Quaeda and twrrorsit activities.

So, no word on nonregional Blu-ray players?

I still can't remember if I can watch Blu-ray and non Blu-ray DVDs on a Blu-ray player, but I can or can't play Blu-ray on a regular DVD player.  Is this correct?

the good news is that we have a mechanical breakdown policy on that car  so we would "only" have to pay the $250  deductible

TCB, you CAN play DVDs and Blu-ray discs on a Blu-ray player.  You CANNOT play Blu-ray discs on a DVD player.

I am hoping someone outbids me for an alto saxophone on eBay.   I've been trying to buy one for a week or two and kept getting sniped or whatever they call it, so I bid on two of them and got the first one and am still winning the second....I hope someone wants it, lol...if not I'll be selling one of them
