My flight is only an hour.  After which I will settle into my hotel, then take a brief walk to the arch and the Lewis and Clark Westward Expansion Museum (or whatever they call it).  I haven't decided if I'm going up in the arch yet, but I'll definitely go to the museum.  After that, I'm going to treat myself to a nice dinner and get ready for my argument tomorrow.  I have some additional research to do, but I'm not sure it's going to get me anywhere.   The thing I don't like about appellate arguments is they don't give you any advanced warning about what they are interested in knowing about.  So, you sometimes get taken by surprise. I really don't think that's going to happen here

The cat/house sitter is very pleased to be visiting with the cats again.  I really don't know what I'd do without her.

Guess I'll meander to the gate.  Last I looked my flight was later and I don't see a Southwest plane on the tarmac, so I may be back on when I get through security.

I did not watch the Emmy Awards last night.

I watched in fits and pieces.  I never believed that Jane Lynch could rub me the wrong way but evidently she can.

There are no speakers on this desktop I am using today, so I can't listen to the website's theme until I get home tonight...

I am currently reading WENDY AND THE LOST BOYS, the bio of Wendy Wasserstein.  I'm enjoying it, though I wish the author posessed at least an iota of Wasserstein's humor.

I read Moss Hart's ACT ONE about twenty years ago.  I did like it though it's written in that folksy/jokey 50's/60's every-third-paragraph-has-a-punchline-that-makes-you-laugh-or-cry style.

The movie is one of George Hamilton's worst films.

I read ACT ONE in a 'digest' version in a book I got from the Book of the Month Club in the 1960's.

I liked the book, even though at that age I didn't know many of the names that Hart was writing about....the film is so bad....George Hamilton is wrong as Hart.....and Robards' performance as Kaufman is inexplicable to me.....

And yes, I blame Mr Schary for the failure of the piece.

I am intrigued by the idea of a Wasserstein biography....but not enough so that I actually want to read it.

I received my Space Children/Colossus of New York cd today and will listen to it soon.....the liner notes are not enjoyable the way the Kritzerland Notes are.......  Not that they are not complete and informative.....but they seem to have no point of view....it's like reading the Wikipedia Page for the movies.

Greetings from Omaha!   I'm waiting to get on a plane to St Louis so I can argue at the 8th Circuit in the morning.  I will confess I have no idea why they want to hear from me on this issue, but they're paying for me to go, spend the night and talk for 5-10 minutes so I'll go.

What a great day so far! I've hopefully solved the router problems with the copiers and computer ar Toyland for Curtis to finish correcting, I've had a good meeting with DJ about the Appalachian Christmas project, and we know what needs to be rewritten and rearranged and who we can keep from the workshop and who needs to be recast. Between emails, the best site on the internet - HHW! - and Facebook, I'm walowing in birthday good will from lots of friends and acquaintances, so I have absolutely no. Complaints. Today. At. All.

A big thank you since my earlier one to DRS

Did you know that "pogue" is an Irish term for "kiss?" There a couplet "Give us a pogue then, you sly little rogue, then" in the Opening to Act Two of EILEEN.

I love you all! You love us all? (a BOY FRIEND reference)

I have to run to my bank to get an application for senior citizen metrocard discount notarized. I may make a trip down to their office tomorrow with my completed form.

Vibes to DR Cillaliz for a smooth flight and a fun afternoon/evening in St. Louis!  It's fun to go up in the arch, but I'd only do it if the weather is clear.
