Closing day/night vibes for DR JOSE.  Have fun at the party!

Thank You, DR JRand. I have a feeling the "after party" is going to be a tame, low-key affair. -Which is a good thing. A lot of people in the company are also heading out first thing tomorrow morning. Some back to NYC. Some out to Pittsburgh. Some to Los Angeles.  -Also, the "poster" for the party is very plain which usually means a "plain" party. ::)

And now...

I need to get ready to head over to see my niece, Alyssa, and drop off her birthday present. And then it's into DC for today's closing shows.

Laters...

The heatwave continues. Temperatures up to 84F forecast for London today. Exceptional for October. I'm topping up my tan!

I'll be back in Manhattan sometime later today. I want to make sure I go early enough in case it starts to rain again and the LIRR decides to crash which happened last Thursday when we had a big rain storm. A lightning strike at Jamaica hit the new signal tower and all trains were cancelled. By Friday morning all was right but rain seems to have a bad effect on the trains and I need to be at work tomorrow morning.

The cable guy or gal will be here between 10 and noon.

I really would like to take a nap, but I know that if I do the cable person will arrive sharply at 10 and I will still be asleep.

I started packing for Los Angeles. Trying to decide if I should take a pair of slacks to wear to the play. It is at the East West Theatre and I don't know how dressy it normally is for a matinee.

If I take slacks then I have to pack nice shoes and socks. So far I have only packed warm weather clothes, although some of the shirts are nice and some of the shorts are dressy-ish. Leather sandals and flip flops are my footwear of choice, thus far.

Last night I watched the 1964 B movie RAIDERS FROM BENEATH THE SEA.

It was an interesting movie, but not nearly as exciting as the poster would suggest...

Two months for us -- and this was monsoon!

Our September tied for the third driest on record with a whopping .31 inches of rain.  Everything is dying.  The fall color won't be very good this year, in spite of the flooding from the water the Army Corp released from the dam, we haven't had  much rain at all.

Time to paint the gazebo. It's goign to be 80 degrees today.  Not a typical Iowa October day, but I want to get the painting done before the weather decides to get back to normal.   It's going to be 86 on Tuesday...80s most of the week.   That's summer weather for us.  Weird weater this year

DR JohnG, water heater vibes!!
Thank you. I priced one. It was $377 (+tax, of course) with $250 for installation. Then they added a $35 charge to come out and take a look at the hookup to see if any work needs to be done. Then I have to pay $95 to the city in order to hook it up. I wonder what other charges there will be. All of the charges will cost more than the heater itself. Ugh.

You're doing the original, not with the movie interpolations, like "Lovely to Look At"? And is it "Roberta" or "Gowns by Roberta"? I have a divinely deco designed piece of piano music for "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" from the original production hanging on my wall and it just says "Roberta," but I've heard others swear the title had the "Gowns by ..."
