Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not disappointing and did not put on the dog, and now it is time for you to post until the disappointing cows come home.

Sorry that the dog wasn't all it should have been.  Food disappointments are sad.

Conference vibes for DR CILLA LIZ.  Thanks for the Carpet Report.

DR JOSE seems to be taking Chicago by storm.

Congrats to DR TCB on his flourishing Broadway (NYC) career.

TOD:

DVD - Brighton Rock 1947 and 2010 versions....most interesting.  I am not sure which one I like best....but I leaning toward the earlier one.

CD - TFNM - most entertaining!

I didn't know the recent "Brighton Rock" was already on DVD. I was waiting for it to hit the theaters here. Guess that won't happen.

I hope this link takes you to today's 9 Chickweed Lane, which is very funny and has "Cranberries" as part of the punchline.

I, also, watched THE GUNS OF NAVARONE again about  a month or so ago, and was amazed at how well it has held up over the years.

It is really one of the great action/adventure movies.

I had a great time at the Austin Film Festival yesterday.  Met some very interesting people.

I'm going back this morning for another screenwriting roundtable.

Good morning, all! I slept rather well, although I had no desire to get out of bed when the alarm went off at 6:30; so I didn't. Today's a busier day than usual. I've got a barber appointment at 11:30, and before that I'v got to make a trek to the post office and post a couple of packages. One is a return to an Amazon.com vendor who sent the wrong item and who has been a rude sonofabitch about my returning it. After that, I'm off to  the Encores! band rehearsal beginning at 1:00. I look forward to hearing what Joshie and I have been up to this week.

DR Cillaliz, I guess I'm flattered that when you think of "Fire Escape," you think of me! Enjoy your Chicago visit. And keep posting those carpet photos. It makes DR Laura happy.

DR JohnG, while I saw all of the sympathy about Joan's death, I sure missed your mention of it. I am sorry to hear of her death.

And so to the TOD:
  DVD:  the three Netflix items still sit here, and one is the first of a BBC series, "Larkrise to Candleford."
  CD: Victor Herbert songs, cello & piano music. Gilbert & Sullivan, Guy Haines,
  VCR: porn

DR Elmore, the funny thing was the halls here are sort of a maze, and as I wandered around I realized that I had to turn at the fire escape sign to get to my room.  It's a narrow little hallway with just 2 rooms by the fire escape.  All I could think of was MBarnum on your fire escape.   It's a very nice room and is quiet, but I laugh every time I turn down the hallway to get here

DR Jose,
I could have taken the blue line in, but I wasn't familiar enough with where it ends, how easy it would be to get a cab there etc. So since it was sort of raining, I was pulling a suitcase and had a heavy backpack, I decided to just take the cab.

Paul and I had tickets for How to Succeed, but we helped our friends out at the Book of Mormon lottery again.   And again no one won.  So our friends went to see Avenue Q.

I had seen How to Succeed a few months ago when I got a rush ticket for a seat in one of the boxes.

This time we were in the orchestra section so I got a different perspective.  It's really a great show!  I think Daniel Radcliffe's dancing has improved since I last saw him.  And he's got charisma to spare!   Tammy Blanchard , who plays, Hedy, is hilarious!

~~~~~SAFE AND TIMELY TRAVEL VIBES TO DR KEVINH~~~~~
*Enjoy your Boingo! -And, remember, you can use it almost anywhere there's WiFi access. They have a lot of "sister" agreements with other companies, so even in places where you would normally have to pay for WiFi access, you don't/won't. -Like Argo Tea here in Chicago - which is like a nicer version of Starbucks... but for tea. Although, they did start serving coffee a little while back. Anyhoo... See you tonight!
