Then it was off to brunch with my friends, Yosh and Brendan. It was sort of a "goodbye for now" deal since I probably won't see either of them until I'm back from L.A. -Although, I did find out last night that I have to be back up here on Halloween day for a short gig, session. Anyhoo... It was a good brunch, and since we brunched early, we also had a bit of time to walk around the UWS for a bit before we all had to go our separate ways.

First step of the beet pickling experience is done; they are skinned and cubed. Miss Molly now has a fondness for beet bites.

One load of laundry also completed.

Now to add sugar, vinegar, water and pickling spices, then to jar and seal.

DR vixmom - If you have a spare spray bottle/mister, fill it with some vodka, and spritz the sweater. That should do the trick. Or just drink the vodka.

And I finally got a hold of my nephew, John Michael, a little while ago. His birthday was on Friday - he's now a teenager, 13! I asked if he got my card/gift. He hasn't. And I mailed it last Tuesday. Hmm... Hopefully, it's just sitting in a pile of other birthday cards at his house.

I hate it when I'm watching a film and the sound is out of synch. the trouble is that once you become aware of it you can't concentrate on the film properly because it becomes a constant distraction.

Yes it is very annoying & difficult to ignore after awhile.

I may as drink the vodka I just discovered that all five of the Italian wool sweaters are made of extra fine merino wool and must be dry cleaned

Dampen them & then put them on to stretch them out. You might be able to salvage them.

I had a lovely lunch with Joseph Rubin at The Cottage on 77th and Amsterdam, I stopped at the 79th Street Duane Reade, and I am now home waitign to hear from Mr Appel. While I'm waiting for him, I think I will tidy up my writing table, a little prep work for the Appalachian writing I begin tomorrow.

I've also got tentative commitments for 2012 from Kim Criswell and Jason Graae for ROBERTA and from Danny Burstein for THE RED MILL.
