Danise: Guess what I saw today? I saw a rather stout woman standing on the street trying to get a cab. No one would stop for her. I saw her skirt fly up a bit, but I thought it was maybe a gust of wind or something. But then I saw her lift it again a little higher and I thought I saw something that I shouldn't have seen. Then she did it twice again, pulling the skirt all the way up to her belly-button, clearly showing something that I shouldn't have been seeing--let's just say she wasn't wearing any underwear! Only in New York...

Jane: You know something--it did! The funny thing is...she had a cab by the second flash. The last two flashes were gratuitous. The woman she was with didn't even seem to notice that she was flashing her female parts for all of Hell's Kitchen to see...

Back from eating late lunch/early dinner and walking about. Ate at Koo-koo-roo for the first time in 9 years. Pretty good. Had a chicken breast with a side of creamed spinach and squash. I even had some ice cream while doing errands. I am now officially FULL.

Talk about using different syllables from different takes (as bk did earlier).... Take a look at this from USA Today:

Cochran's latest includes spirit of Twitty

Country singer Anita Cochran's new single features a ghostly surprise — the voice of the late Conway Twitty. But (I Want to Hear) A Cheatin' Song isn't a song Twitty ever sang. Cochran wrote it two years ago. Twitty died in 1993.

Cochran assembled the five-line vocal track from samples of 1980s Twitty records. None was longer than three words; some were shorter than one.

"He sang the word 'song' a bunch of times, but we couldn't find it in the right pitch," Cochran says. "So we took the word 'wrong,' took the 'wr' off it and put on 's' to build the word 'song.'"

Twitty's widow, Dee Henry Jenkins, says, "We had recorded things digitally, and I knew what miracles could take place, but this was a whole different thing. I think Conway would have thought it was a great idea."

I just had a very nice visit with our own DR MBarnum’s brother. He is a very nice and speaks highly of his brother.

Michael, he did remember to give us the hello you sent in April. Unfortunately this has been his first time here since then. I knew you had a nephew in Iraq, I just didn’t realize it was Allen’s son.

According to Playbill.com, Off-Bway Finian's Rainbow Gets Cast Album From Sh-K-Boom Label! A new recording from both Melissa Errico and Malcolm Gets! According to the article, "Melissa Errico (who has since left the Off-Broadway engagement) and Malcolm Gets go into the studio with the Irish Rep cast to record the disc for the Sh-K-Boom Label." It also goes on to say, "Kerry O'Malley, who took over for Melissa Errico in the production recently, will also be joining the cast on the recording." I wonder if she'll be part of the ensemble or if she'll have a bonus track at the end. Anyone have any ideas?

So the song will be Conway - but "it's only make believe". Maybe he's never been this far before. C'est Si Bon!

I ordered my copy of Michael Crawford does Barnum the other day. Barnum has a "thing" for masked men too it seems.
I'm not judgemental. After all I am quite fond of watching it on video! - Crawford doing Barnum that is.

"Billy" is still the best ever Crawford performance IMHO.

Made a curious discovery at the local 99 Cents Only Store today...99c DVDs. I took a chance on several. Surprisingly, their pictures are clear (I'm not an expert on this transfer stuff like some here...only on what I can tolerate after years of watching movies on local TV stations before cable) and the sound isn't mushy. Most of it seems to be pd stuff that's been around in various forms...but hey, 99cents? I got MEET JOHN DOE; MR. MOTO'S LAST WARNING; MR. WONG, DETECTIVE; PENNY SERENADE; BULLDOG DRUMMOND COMES BACK; LAST MAN ON EARTH (with Vinnie Price...the 1st adaptation of I AM LEGEND, I believe); and a DVD of 3 Jack Benny TV episodes. They had lots more TV...Dick Van Dyke, Red Skelton, Bonanza, Ozzie & Harriett, Mr. & Mrs. North...and more pd films like THE LITTLE PRINCESS, DRESSED TO KILL, DOA, etc. They're packaged rather cheaply in in simple cardboard sleeve envelopes, but could be transferred to jewell boxes.

Bruce, I’m sure you had more fun with your imagination than with the link I posted.

Panni, if it makes you feel better, Keith gets after me to eat when my weight drops. At the moment that isn’t an issue, but it can be when I’m distracted. When I was in LA while my Dad was in the hospital I had to give Keith a constant report on what I was eating. So obviously Bruce cares.

I have seven unwatched WEST WING’S and five unwatched JAG’S. I’m not sure I want to even watch WEST WING anymore. Keith became disenchanted over a year ago. Obviously I’m not rushing to watch JAG. I think I spend too much time visiting here.
