And now we're just waiting to get through the traffic/construction back-up on the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Otherwise, it's been a pretty smooth bus ride so far. -Well, since I slept through the first half of it...

We are back from our visit to the very impressive Reims Cathedral.  We rented the audio commentary apparatus  and took more than 2 hours to do what the clerk said would take about an hour.  Festivities just concluded to celebrate the cathedral's 800th anniversary - it was the site of French coronations until 1825.  We stopped for a casual lunch and are back at the hotel.  I've purchased and printed our train tickets to get to the airport (with a lot of help from Ana at the desk!) and made coffee for me and tea for Richard.

I'm enjoying the 3D broadcasts on my new 3D TV. Natural history films look wonderful - it's just like looking out of an open window. I was watching a programme about meerkats which look so real, you feel you can reach out and touch them.

I now need to get a 3D capable Blu-ray player. I already have one 3d Blue disc - PIRANHA. But maybe I shouldn't admit to that  ;)

So, I went to the Kritzerland site. I do not see anything there about the new release. I also wish these "press releases" would include more info than "Plus postage", so maybe the amount, which I vaguely recall might be $3.75, and the email address are since I saw no way of orderign the CD through the Kritzerland site. Did I miss it?
I just found a release with the same price and did a mock order to see what the postage/handling would be.

Zach and I have been laughing all morning about a moment on last night's 60 Minutes.  As some of you know, we have a very heavily involved autistic nephew (Zach's cousin), and Betsy's brother is an internationally famous researcher of dietary solutions to autism, so we have the "right" to laugh about this, but last night there was a segment on iPad apps for autistic kids, and there was this one moment of a teacher asking an autistic kid if he wanted to work, and the kid even before the teacher could finish the sentence, pressed the "No" button about 25 times in less than five seconds, with the robo-voice saying, "No, no, no, no, no, no. . ."  :)

Good morning from O'Hare Airport.

Yesterday was a departure from my theatre-going week. I took the "Metra" commuter train and met my aunt and cousin in Bolingbrook, Illinois.  I hadn't seen them in 16 and 20-something years, respectively.  It was nice catching up.  My aunt is the last of my father's siblings.  Her 5 brothers are all deceased.

I am gobsmacked department:  Read in Variety this morning that Baz Luhrman is preparing a 3D version of The Great Gatsby with Leonardo di Caprio for Christmas 2012 release.

CD ordered.

I am very excited about receiving the LeRoy Holmes music on this CD.  It was my baby sister's introduction to CCBB - the soundtrack album was impossible to find around here.....at least when we started looking for it.

The Holmes arrangements and the singers are great!  I used a lot of the tracks when I was teaching dance....such fun!!!

DR GEORGE -  if the sound designers at your theatre are not familiar with this site, you might want to share.  All the sounds are FREE and most are downloaded as MP3 files, but can be converted easily to WAV files to play on a CD player.  It's a great resource!  Registration is free and there is NO limit to what you can download.  I have been a member for three years and have never received a SPAM email or anything else from them.

I knew he was filming it, but I didn't know about the 3D. So we can feel the car running us over?

DR ELMORE - I did not watch ONCE UP ON A TIME.....since it was on opposite THE AMAZING RACE!!

And NBC has the exact same type of series starting this week called GRIMM.....so much for creativity.  Did you watch it?  What did you think?

There is an absolutely superb UA Leroy Holmes album from 1969-70 called MUSIC FROM THE NEW PROVOCATIVE FILMS which I highly, highly recommend.  LP only (no CD that I've been able to find--very little of Holmes' work has been digitized).
