I guess it will be his Broadway debut if MTC is Broadway.

Well if you like Pirates and Pirate movies - especially of the 50's movie matinee kind.....you might like Pirates of the Golden Age - which is a 4 movie DVD set.

Against All Flags - with Errol Flynn (1952 style)
Buccaneer's Girl - with Miss Yvonne DeCarlo
Yankee Buccaneer - with Jeff Chandler and Scott Brady
Double Crossbones - with Donald O'Connor

All in color from Universal-International.  The O'Connor picture and the DeCarlo one have musical numbers.

My favorite and the reason I bought the set is Yankee Buccaneer which used to be on television a lot.....an American Navy ship is disguised as a pirate ship to capture the real pirates.....Scott Brady is David Farragut and Chandler is the ship's captain.

Lots of fun....if you like Pirates who NOT Johnny Depp.

And it's less than $8 new at Amazon!

Inquiring minds want to know what the first label for the new OBC release was.

Probably easy to figure out, since there are only two labels who do this stuff that's paid for by others.

Why don't you email me?  :)

I know there are two labels (the one with the letters and the other "spectral" label, but I'm curious which one it was).

DR JMK - If you look at the type of albums each of those labels releases, it should become quite obvious.

Well it isn't, which is why I'm asking.  This why I go crazy here sometimes--how hard is it to just answer someone or PM them?  I mean really.

Whydayya care?  ::)

Sorry, DR JMK.  PM will be forthcoming. Just trying to avoid a Google alert, if ya' get my drift.

Thank you for stating what I hoped would be obvious.  Don't want or need the Google alerts or search things.

I see that bandleader Edmundo Ros died on October 21st at the good age of 100. His Latin American music was hugely popular in the UK. I used to enjoy his music and have several of the recordings he did for Decca Phase 4. He used to appear regularly on BBC TV and had long running radio programmes. I'm not sure whether he had any popularity in the U.S.

DR DougR, I had not heard of him before....but after doing some google searching I found some music clips and I am now hooked! LOVE this type of music!!

Will be adding some CDs to my Amazon.com wish list, for  sure.

Here is a sample of Edmundo Ros....I think that DR JRand will like this guy.

DR JMK, I am shocked that I didn't notice you mention him before!

I'm sorry, this made me laugh imagining the various possibilities running through your head.  Funny how something obvious to one person due to familiarity with the subject prompts another person to ask the above question.

DR Cillaliz, I'm sure the mother was hoping her daughter would have to suffer the consequences of her actions. Nothing better than jail for that.

I'm sure the mom will suffer the financial consequences now.

I agree.

Does anyone know if a script for the original "Shuffle Along" is available to someone like me out in the sticks?

My question for ASK BK Day:

Would you consider appearing on a reality contest show if you were asked?

No.  There is not.

There's a crazy woman working on one of the Eubie Blake shows, but she's a sociologist with no performance, music, or music editing background, and it's a mess.

I'm back from my long long long Roberta meeting. The show is a mess! I'm crabby, very sleepy, and I have to have a long long telephic conversation about it tonight. Someone, shot me.

DR JRand61, great news about your friend Zach!
