I haven't decided if I'm going to caucus this year or not. If I do, it will be a Republican caucus because the dem nominee is already chosen. If you're into the procedural side of politics at all, it's really amazing to me how differently the two parties caucus. The democrats all talk and try to convince you to come to their candidate and make deals, etc. I've only caucused as a Republican once before, but there were speeches by all the candidates, then you break into smaller groups and do a paper vote instead of physically moving into a group and showing who you support. The Democrats caucuses take hours. The Repubicans are much quicker. I didn't live here when I caucused for a republican - I'll be curious to see if it's the same way here this time.
I have been known to be a defensive caucuser. I go and vote for the candidate in the other party I fear the least. I do that in primaries too. LOL
