I'm up, it's a pretty day, and I'm happy to read the nice comments about episode three.  Behind the scenes: The dog was the happiest of accidents - normally I like to have two people in the opening scene - it gives us something to cut to and gives the scenes rhythm.  So, I'd written Glen, Jason's boyfriend, into it, but he goes away very quickly (I wrote these before discovering that having two people or more was going to be necessary).  I saw the dog sitting on that little outdoor settee and I do what I often do with dogs - I made a little high-pitched squeal and Roy cocked his head just as all dogs do.  I grabbed the camera gal and said shoot this - and we got Roy to do it five or six times and we had our cutaways.

It is very difficult, at least for me, to get photos of the cute head cock.  The dog was a perfect addition to this episode.

And...

bk - Have you thought about adding a "Kritzerland at The Gardenia" link/page to Kritzerland.com? -I know you have the Facebook page set up, but a dedicated "Kritzerland at the The Gardenia" page may help attract people who don't like to click on Facebook-hosted links.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  If it had been a little bit colder today we wouldn't have had to go to Lima because all this rain would have been enough snow to cause a Level 3 emergency.  As it is, we had an uneventful trip up and back and I'm glad to be home.  I think I need a nap...

Get to spend 2 hours at home this afternoon, then back out, then back at home tonight.

It's Tom's daughter's 22nd birthday.  Do you know how hard it is to buy something for a 22 year old these days.   Really really difficult, I know gift cards are popular but, I like to buy something tangable.   Settled on a sweater in her favorite color from the younger hipper section at the store.    I like things like silk and cashmere which are not washable, so I thought better about that.

Football, barbecue, and birthday cake.  Should be a nice evening.  8)

bk - Please note: I was thinking of ordering box set 5 of the Bruno Cremer Maigret series but I see that there are comments on Amazon.fr pointing out that only 2 of the 10 discs in that box set have English subtitles - unlike box sets 1 - 4 which all have English sub-titles. I don't know about you but that makes box set 5 unattractive to me being a non-French language speaker.

Watched episode 3. Very nicely done but I suspect that Dali as a subject isn't such an odd idea for a musical! I do enjoy those opening telephone converstations.

Shows what I know.  When I heard the title, I expected it would be about the Dalai Lama.

The two giant pandas Tian Tian and Yang Guang (Sweetie and Sunshine) have just landed at Edinburgh airport from China.

Years ago, I went to the London Zoo to see the pandas.  It was a very warm spring day, and the pandas were sound asleep.  I walked back by several times during my visit, and they never moved.  So. my only memory of the pandas was their ass rear ends.

Laundry is in the wash and chicken is in the oven. Or is it the other way round? My memory gets a bit hazy these days.

If the chicken tastes a little "sheety" you will know that you got them backwards

bk - Do you have "Outside the Box" t-shirts?

No, but that's a very good idea.

If you do make Outside the Box t-shirts, please get some of them made in Fat Man sizes for me.

Doug, that's very upsetting about box five - I wonder why they'd do that?

Something is seriously screwy with You Tube - everyone has shared episode three on Facebook - much more so than the others, and yet we only have 158 views.  Not possible.

BK - looks like this Outside the Box episode is off to a nice start.

Off to a matinee.

A Pinter play?

Then to a fitting?

If there were two of them you must have seen Chi Chi with An An, a visitor from Moscow zoo - one of the male pandas which they tried (unsuccessfully) to get her to mate with.

Even when motivated by food to move they appeared to be moving in slow motion.

I think that is correct.  They never did introduce themselves, but, then again, I didn't introduce myself either.

Pretend it's Friday for a moment. I wanted to mention that I watched WHITECHAPEL last week, the British TV drama. I really liked it. Rather bloody, but not too-too--at least for my taste.
